How do I remove the starter motor for my 84' 35 hp Evinrude?

Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up your mtr. They have good parts diagrams. Or else get an OEM Factory Service Manual.

Thank you, for replying. The problem is that the drive assembly was stuck in the down position and wouldn't engage the fly wheel during start up. I did some knocking on the starter body and it engaged fine. I did some more research and am planning on lubricating the drive assembly (WD40?). If that doesn't do the trick I'd replace the drive assembly.

The starter mtr could also have stuck brush in it and you jarred it loose.
