Its gettin close to when they stop quackin too! So i have that one comming in and a line on another newer one that has the key and push buttom stop. Same style. I may go ahead and get that one also. Getting a little tiller handle crazy here. Good news is since they are kinda hard to come by i should be able to sell them again fairly easy.

I was really hoping for a 3rd ride this weekend too. Looks like ill be kayaking around for some scouting in the rivers instead.

Thanks decker!

Got the tiller in tonight and couldnt resist putting it on. Better fit but not perfect yet again. There may be an adapter or spacer or something i will need. But shifting gears is adjustable and much safer now. Throttle is nicer but the adapter piece i think ive seen and will need will make it perfect. Atleast i feel its usable for the season now. Just not going to open up full throttle yet. Ill take that over what i had before anyday! Time for research.....

New tiller handle installed. Only thing I think I need to work on is getting it to WOT. The top screw on the throttle arm doesnt go all the way to the stopper?

But... after a scare of it running and not peeing I hopped on to the mercury fan page on facebook for some feedback someone mentioned the t stat. So I fired her back up and let it run longer and the flow started..... phew If im not on the river today, itll be in the next day or two.

Making this to actually be usable. Just need to get a vent cap. Have 5 more cans to do. but ill just add the vents to those and use this nozzle.

On the tell tale I had the same experience with the big Merc 140 TOP. But I had just replaced the impeller and that sucker has 6 feet straight up to pump the water.

On the throttle are you seeing if the butterflies are opening all the way up?

Butterfiles look to be open all they. I put a pic of the throttle arm/screw positions up on the merc forum.

If the butterflies will open all the way then it could just be an adjustment issue or maybe nothing to worry about since she's going to WOT.

Ill have to get it in the water and see if she will plain out still. Looks like that might not happen till sunday now. But even if it just cruises for now thats fine. Shifts perfect in the gears and I dont have to be as careful with the throttle like the last handle.

Here ducky ducky ducky.....

Boat ran great today. Video above stinks, but she gets up and goes! Once the starter wants to kick right anyway. New tiller worked out just fine.

Video was east of the ramp (wind was more from the west), plus a little wake from turning around and headed almost straight back into the wind. The calm was when I headed westi into the back river and got out of the wind. Which opens options for bad weather days! there are ramps for me to use back there also, but a this was at a higher tide than usual. I need to get out there more on a low tide (6-8 ft difference on normal tides). I know where some trees are in the river, but have not been out since hurricane mathew back there.Already saw two stumps floating in the currrent. who knows where they will settle and how big the tree is (think iceberg). Never bothered me in a kayak. this is a new ball game for sure!

Vid was great.. Yeah the logs and stumps will come up on you a lot faster in the SC than a kayak.. Keep them eyeballs peeled for them..:D

All the work is going to pay off tomorrow morning with the opener of duck season! Ofcourse i would like to shoot a few but just being able to finally hunt it is going to be rewarding enough! Ducks or no ducks. I hope i remember to take pictures of the trip.

Plans for after season will be to redo the front deck area and electronic upgrades. Might even get fishfinder for xmas! Battery locations will also be more secure in boxes.
