Holy Mackerel ! That is out of the box thinking. A modern day gunning float. I hope this works because I would love to you realize your dream.

Started work today. Got the boat back in the garage so the hoa doesnt flip out, and wet sanded and cleaned one of the walls. then the rain came to help out. Tucked a corner in the garage to do some test painting. I wont strip these to bare aluminum and paint. Going to do the scuff and paint method and see how it goes. Im sure the original job has to be a good base.

Hmmm, make sure to paint those panels well

Wouldnt want the SC to have an allergic reaction to the Crestliner parts and reject them

Test panel looks good

What's the plan for attachment to the hull? Removable for fishing?

Got it attached today but ran out of hardware and broke the last bit I had for rivets. I cut strips of aluminum and angle and riveted the angles to the wall and bolted them through the gunnel with SS 1/4 inch bolts So I can remove them if needed. But now Im picturing rod holders all around for crappie fishing and light mounted like I see the pontoon boats doing on Okeechobee!

Did you put any backers under the gunwale where you thru bolted?

Be a lot of wind load on the panels, w out the corner pieces, I'd be worried they'd be subjected to a lot of stress...

The bows added for the top fabric should add some needed side-to-side support.

Will you be able see when running, g0ne. You wanna shoot those ducks, not run over them. LOL

Hey that running blind comment, it was GAB who dropped that one on you, yeah he beat me to it.

I like the radar thought though, we have a Raymarine on our work boat and I was using it one day trying to figure it out a little better before it got dark when a big blip showed up real close off the starboard bow. I looked up thinking it was going to be a boat but I was surprised to see it was just a flock of ducks. A pintle mount punt gun would've got the whole flock. :D

Who? Me?

No way, Rob. The forum software must be acting up. Again.

Hey - Could you microwave the ducks and have them table ready with orange sauce? Amana Radarange, anyone? LOL

Got the backing plates on. Doubled up the two front ones to catch both brackets.

Enough rip stop camo to wrap around more than once.

Double bracket plate for the bow. All these went under the gunnel.
