Got the othe two holders painted and installed. Green duct taped wrapped on these two. Also tried several attempts at cutting a wood base but kept messing up and went with out them. Its not like ill be trolling for marlin with this set up. Alll bolts holding in one, and ran short on those so used two rivets in the other one.

Appreciate it guys! First gift card purchase from the sis in law, 2 way radios with 20 mile radius and emergency alerts. These are for when hunting with buddies in kayaks or other boats. faster and easier than cell phones! 230.jpg

Now on to bass pro gift card searches, the fam knew exactly what to get me this year.

Merry Xmas and happy Holidays to all!

Ok gift cards used up. Went with first aid kit. Every boat shout have one really! Makes me think of needing a fire extinguisher now. What other safety stuff yall keep stored and on hand? I know I should keep flares and maybe a whistle too.

Thanks JB, And Wmann its too close to the finish! I called a guy today from Clist ads south of me. He's always selling some used/worked on outboards. I just want to talk about what hes got up and comming and what he can do as far as tillers on larger ones. Slipped the boat out a little today to get back to the splash well drains in the transom. Wasnt as hard as I thought it was going to be. Wont get too much more done for a lil while I think.
The plan is to use the plates still and drill a hole for the drain in them.

There were two sets of holes. The smaller being 1 1/2 inch. Should that be fine or should I go with the larger? The smaller was used when I got the boat.

new thoughts, could I drill all 4 holes as splash well drains? Use the two larger ones for maybe future live well intake and returns/ depth finder cable.

Or do you think thats too many through transom holes would weaken it too much?

Having the livewell fill/drains running up into/thru the splashwell wouldnt be my 1st choice. But properly installed drains wouldnt weaken it, IMO

I believe most drain tubes for splash wells are 1" dia which is what the larger ones look to be in the pics. I would look the holes over and plug the ones that aren't original. To me the little holes look like ones made by the PO.
