Hello, Well since my BIL and myself bought our 75 Islander 3 weeks ago, we have been busy checking things out. Of course the transom has to be replaced and with the help of posts here, we have removed the old in about a thousand pieces and fabed up a new one from marine ply using us composites epoxy 3:1 for sealer. We should be able to put it in next week. It's a little cool here in upstate NY so the epoxy is taking its time. We found that one tank wasn't hooked up and after pulling both found that they were pretty rusty. Are replacing with aluminum tanks from the original mfg (Mirax). They were about $40 more than the poly (each) but I couldn't find a poly replacement with the right size or port configuration. I was also a little uncomfortable with the approx 5% expansion possible with the poly.
So here's the first of many questions that will present themselves as we go along. WIRING THE TANKS AND FUEL SELECTOR SOLENOID -- The boat (no Name yet) has an electric fuel tank selector solenoid that is still operational. It is a power on/off type selecting one of two inputs. How can I hook this solenoid up to a single switch which also selects which tank sender is being sent to the single gauge . I have found plenty on wiring the tanks to a single gauge but nothing including the tank selector solenoid. If anyone could help out with a wiring schematic it would be greatly appreciated.
Here are a few pics of our new baby.View attachment 172727View attachment 172728

Welcome to the iboats dry dock..

I will be of no real assistance w/ your wiring question, except to suggest you ask a MOD to move this thread to the electrical forum :)

Might scan thru some threads, it may have already been covered there....
