Hey Cool - See if you can peel the State issued HIN sticker off and put it on the transom wood where it is now. With it covered there might be hassles if you happen to sell the boat. My DNR ranger stuck the GA issued HIN on the starboard outside top corner of the transom. And a second one in a secret location. I'm not tellin'. :D

I tried, that's some good glue, and it says not to tamper or alter, so I will take a picture of it, so I know what it says, and then the new transom board can go all the way to the corner, it will protect the tag from fading  I tried different pieces of scrap wood different lengths and push/pull the transom, it feels the most solid with a full corner to corner piece, if its a problem later, it's only 4 bolts to take it off

the dmv was a success, but time consuming:D but i got it done 015.jpg now i feel more comfortable putting time and money into it, not that it should be a problem, i had the signed title, but anymore sometimes that not enough:rolleyes:. its just a little tin boat, i would like to make it as nice as i can. part of me wants to keep it simple and part wants to paint it grey and do the bow up like the open sharks mouth:facepalm:

trying to decide how to transport this:confused: maybe start a new thread but where? not really trailer or towing. was thinking of a couple bunks past the tailgate, haul it upright with motor on it, that would be nice, easy to launch, not going to happen:facepalm:. sticks out too far, add the motor hanging way out. then i realized that i have no drain, so if it downpours, it could get heavy 015.jpg014.jpg

Add a ladder rack and throw it on top :D. That would be a high lift but it sounds cool.

i will find a cheap or free trailer, it may take a while for one to happen along, so for now i think i will carry it upside down on the roof. if i haul it upright on a trailer, get caught in a downpour it will fill with water it has no drain. if it fills with water on the trailer or truck bed, i wont be able to roll it over to get it out

Re: -6' itis aluminum v hull

i found a whole gallon of good paint in the garage and it needs used up, so it looks like it will be dark blue, maybe green trim or white. it has been black, yellow, blue, and couple different shades of white, the white all looks like latex house paint, and has peeled in strips down the bottom, and places of thick cracked paint, i think i may need to strip it, to paint it

016.jpg017.jpg019.jpg021.jpg little by little, getting the paint off, the white was definatly latex, i think the yellow might be highway stripeing paint

Cool - She looks a heck of a lot better than what you started with. And you cleaned out a small spot in the garage shelf. I can see you on the water. :fish2: :)
