Re: -6' itis aluminum v hull

Looks like a fun lil one. And your on the water. Couldn't be better. :D

it was fun:D, took me a while to get it splashed though, It leaks about a gallon an hour:rolleyes: but I just kept stopping every hour or so and sopping it up with a towel. been running the Larson on the river mostly, hard to mess with this little boat, when theres so much boating to be done:D, but got bored running up and down the same river, and theres all these electric only lakes to play in now, only gas I burned was in my truck getting there, saved me $80 in gas boating this way:victorious:. think I will reserve the big boat for when I have guests. I did run my gas motors in a bucket since I haven't used them this week and on a less happy note my kicker got hot and wouldn't pee so I shut it down and have put in the garage till I have time to check the impeller:blue: so I wont be trying it on the little boat till then

I been working on the boat again the last couple weeks. when I tried hanging the outboard on it the transom wanted to flex, so I decided to build a full piece and go 2" thick. last week I cut and glued it, Saturday I painted it and yesterday bolted it in. the old bolt holes wouldn't work, they were too close together and where the motor goes so I filled them with jb waterweld and drilled new ones. now have to wait for touchup paint to dry

Looks solid, but I would want to know what the ratings is for the boat HP wise. No tag on the back of the transom telling this data? 2 inches is thick, it should work, but that boat should scream, so be careful when turning at higher speeds if you decide to water test it. Safety first if you don't know what the boat is rated for .

its 12' no tag but have seen that most other this size are rated no more than 10, but my motor is actually a 9.9, it just has a 15 carb on it. it pushes the 18' all American 8mph so I was planning to take care on this little 12 'er

it has no tag, but other 12' boats like this I have seen were rated for 10, mine is a 9.9, it just has a 15 carb, pushes my 18' all American 8mph, I expect more speed on this boat so I will be careful while learning its behaviors and getting the trim set right:D

My 12ft'r is rated for a 7.5hp OB........ My understanding is the 15hp carb on the 9.9hp powerhead, is a 15hp.

If you like the motor, I'd look for a 13-14ft'r to put the 15hp on. Or at least a WIDE 12ft'r. Mine's fairly narrow. Can't really tell from the pix of it on the grass.

I like the boat, I will try the 15 if its too scary, I will stick with the 40lb min kota and 5.5 wizard that I bought for it, was just thinking this might be more fun:D so beefed up the transom for more options, course if it makes the admiral poo her pants it will be no go

the motor on my Larson cracked a piston so I'm glad i been working on this again. it will be my only boat till I rebuild the motor, I got the motor on, wired the bow light, installed a sound system, and moved the batteries over from the larson

took it to the river today, was leaking about a gallon per hour, also was hard to plane, otherwise had a great time. got to try it out and am working on some changes, it was very stable even though im sure it was overloaded, had 9 gallons of gas, 2 batteries, 2 people @ a total of 420lbs, anchor and chain, 40lb thrust min kota and the evinrude, 2 speakers and an amplifier. i'm guessing about 650lbs total and I need it all. only used a gallon and a half so i'm only going to take 3 next time, so that may shave off 40 few pounds. sealed the leaks and raised the motor by putting a piece of wood under it because It was too low and on plane the splash plate above the ventilation plate was sending water over the transom, its still over a inch below the keel, but I hope it helps as it would take a jack plate to raise it any more
