Hey, Jason. Sure got your hands full now. Sounds to me like an electrical problem. Try checking all connections. Could be a bad wire. I am new to the Force but trying to learn. Check for bad insulated wires because it shuts down when get hot. Jiggz post Scmat is too small I can't see it to see how the electrical works. Some body here will know the problem. I am curious of the problem

Re: 50HP Force left me dead in the water in the middle of lake st clair yesterday

I just went outside, put the muffs on, and fired it up.. it ran for 1 minute. I shut it of and restarted it 2 more times without an issue. I noticed that the block was pretty warm for only running for a couple minutes total amongst 3 times starting it so I shut it down. I am lost and in need of help...

Something is getting warm, swelling and grounding out. Look for worn insulation around flywheel. Posting your email was a bad idea. PM's are best for that.

hey, if someone wants to email me and help, i am up for it. Engine is starting every time when cold, then like you said, after it warms, it will not start until many hours of not running. I see nothing obvious though... thanks for the help and any more you may give..

Why don't you try running it for about ten minutes just make sure you have cooling water coming out of the snout and the hi-temp buzzer is not activating. OB gets warm real quick even only for a minute of running. What you felt for your engine is normal.

After running it for ten minutes shut if off and then start it again. If it works again, then there's not a whole you can do when it is working. You need to re-create the problem so you can troubleshoot. You and the rest of the forum cannot troubleshoot a perfectly working machine, if you know what I mean. Symptoms are the only indications or telltales where to look.

Will do, when i connected the muffs, not nearly as much water was sputtering out as it was when the OB was sitting in a garbage can of water...before I do this, are the muffs sufficient? Or should I go get the can and fill it again?

Muffs should be sufficient since you will not be revving the engine. But if you want to set up a garbage can that is fine too. Pay attention to the hi-temp buzzer or better yet test it first before the test ran. Get a jumper wire and ground the orange wire, switch the ignition to on but do not start, you should hear the buzzer. If you don't you need to fix that first.

Guys, where is this orange wire? I do not have an orange one on the motor at all. Only orange one is connected to the horn under my counsel and when i ground it, it sounds the horn. (i just realized my horn button is bad when doing this) But this is not the overheat buzzer right? I cannot find that one.

UPDATE: JUN13th 1:15PM EST

Engine was just fired up with muffs on, ran for 1-2minutes TOPS, and I cannot hold my hand on the head where the spark plugs connect for more than 6 seconds without burning myself.

Pull your thermostat and run without it....should cool the motor right down with it out. Probably a good time to change it regardless. It's a cheap part that ruin a motor in a hurry.

Re: UPDATE: JUN13th 1:15PM EST

You said the engine got hot, but did the buzzer sound? Or the engine stopped? Was there stream of water coming out of the exhaust snout? Was it warm or at least warmer than the intake water?
