Re: 50 worst cars of all time 1899-present

Only car on the list I ever had was the Crosley Hotshot; 1949, first American car with 4 wheel disk brakes, 10:1 compression ratio and an OHC engine (Duesey doesn't count). Was a blast to drive. I doubt if any of Time's writers ever even saw one.

The 2 worst cars I ever owned are not on the list: 1952 Hillman Minx and 1959 Ford Anglia. They probably weren't as bad as the Yugo and the first year of Hyundai, but neither one lasted 30K miles.

I've owned 2 on the list:

1980 Triumph TR-7, but we pulled the anemic 4 cylinder in favor of a Ford 302 & 4 speed. Nasty little car after that. Unfortunately still had the Lucas electrical system. All switches were 3-way (dim, flicker, off)

2004 Hummer H2 - I take exception to that one...they list the fuel consumption as the big issue. It has a detuned GM 6.0L engine and 4 speed auto trans. I average 12 in town and 15 on the highway. My Chevy 3500 4-door long bed dually got the same milage, but no one ever said a word. Some people are just programmed to repeat things they hear others saying without gathering all the info.

Where is the AMC Matador? The Mustang II? The Datsun B210? Should have been top 100...

Why doesn't the Dusenberg count? Because it had TWO overhead cams? ;)

Weren't the earlier Lucas switches 5 way? Dim, flicker,smoke,fire,off? :eek::D;)

I think this has been posted at Iboats before, but now that you bring the subject up, here it is again;
