Re: 50 worst cars of all time 1899-present

I have to take issue with the '61 Corvair...I had one, and I would kill to have it back! It was a convertable w/4 speed, and a pure blast to drive. Easy on the gas, and I never spent a dime on antifreeze.

My guess is that the Corvair made the list in honor of Ralph (can I be any 'greener') Nader!

P.S. I could 'drop' the motor from below with just 4 bolts, and the wire harness disconnected and the heater hoses loose.

loving the 90 hp camaro. Seriously, whats the point. Reminds me of the X-treme S-10 that has a label on the rear bumper that says you can not tow with it (Pickup that can't tow, another failure).

The 90hp Camaro made the list, and i'm surprised it's equally underpowered Nemesis the 2.3L Fox body Mustang didn't make the cut.

That car was such a loser it couldn't even make the list of biggest loosers:facepalm:

Fox body mustangs.... I think those 2.3's were designed so therer would be more parts availible for the 5.0's in the junk yard. Can you say rusted out hatch??

I suppose you could at least say the 2.3L was a good running, reliable engine despite the fact lots of Japanese motorcycles of that era had more rocks than it. What must have been a real bummer is when your head gasket did eventually blow (they all did) on your 3.8L equipped Fox body... :D

I see no mention of the Ford Tempo- biggest POS I've ever worked on. Oil pans leaked, head gaskets leaked, A/C evaporators leaked, could NOT keep them aligned and the 4 cylinder vibration was the worst of any 4 cylinder I ever drove. Horrible, horrible cars.

Ditto on the Windstar. We have to leave our third seat at home so we have enough room in the back to carry spare parts.

One vehicle that should be on there is the late 70's mustang II....which was an embarrassment when compared to the late 60's mustangs like the Boss 302 and such.:facepalm:
Luckily, I've never owned any of the cars on the list....whewwww!!

Wait where's the K-car?

The "K" platform was a generic frame that Chrysler used for a bunch of their models...different skin, but same old everything else. Not the best design, and that became a four letter word.

Hard to believe I've only owned one on the list (technically). I had the Chevette they listed and a later (1980) model that wasn't much of an improvement, though it did look a little nicer. Surprised to not see my Vega or my Fiat X 1/9 on the list. Loved the Fiat when it was running, unfortunately between the Lucas electrical system, the first timing belt I'd ever heard of (and not until after it broke), and flimsy wheel bearings that wasn't all that often. FIAT = Fix It Again Tony.

Well, I think the Corvair was a good little car, but only for people who drove it like a rear engined car. The engine was excellent. I had three Corvair powered VW Campers that were a whole world better than the peanut power.

I also think it unfair to include novelty cars like the Crosley Hotshot and the King Midget. Never drove a KM, but the Hotshot was a lot of fun to drive and actually won the Collier Trophy Race in. . . um . . .I think it was 1959.

Surprised the Fiat x-19 isn't on this list or the Pontiac Fiero for that matter.
