That's one sweet Chris Craft! I have a 1967 lancer as well. It has been repowered with a 454 and stoked to a 489. Lots of HP. Still working on interior, I did make a bench across the rear as you did this beauty, still need to work on the front seats. I love the lights you put in the bow. I'm sure they are very useful.

Re: 23ft Chris Craft Lancer. New floor and interior

Just picked the boat up from storage. If it stops raining today I hope to start on measuring the side panels out. I couldn't get to it last season. This season is a little different. I need to make some big decisions about replacing the trailer and whether to spend the money on a Bimini top.

The trailer is in rough shape. It makes the unloading and loading a real pain. Also the brakes are horrible. So I either need to replace or completely rebuild it.

Off to pull the storage wrap off of it and get some pics of the sides to start drawing up ideas.

I see yous are in MN,....

I saw a nice trailer from a Warrior boat listed a c-list in MN the other day, Looked great, tandem axle, brakes etc,..........

I think it was for a 20 footer,...........And I think it would make a solid trailer for your boat,....

By the way, Very nice looking boat yous have there!!

Well The boat made it out to Iowa and lake Okoboji again. The weekend went without a hitch(other than a dreadful battery drain). Her are some pics of the changes so far this year.

This is the new seat I bought when I first was redoing the interior. My bride never liked it. I didnt like it and it didn't really fit in the boat. Once it was removed you can see the space it opened up.

I wanted a bench type seat that could hold Life jackets, dock line and keep a Ipod out of sight.

I also wanted to add a little kick to the stereo. While the box is made with 1/2 inch Plywood. The sub box is full inch MDF. MDF sucks up resin like nobody's business. I couldn't believe how much it took to fill/soak in. After the resin dried I had the guys at Precision auto upholstery wrap it up in white.

The lid uses a stainless steel hinge that I split to allow the two separate sections to open independently of each other.
Under the lid in the forward section (on top of the sub box is a three inch deep shallow tray. This is a great spot for wallets and Ipod for the stereo.

The tops of the lids were covered in the green and white the rest of the boat uses.

The cooler is from West marine and the cushion was made by the upholstery guys to follow the theme/style we had already done. I think it looks great and love the look. I also love the cold drinks it is always filled with.

I would love to see a picture of what you use for a stern light. The mount I have is not compatible with new lights I see for sale locally. Also what type of flag pole and mount do you use. I really want to add a flag to the back of the boat.

Your Chris looks great and I'm very jealous of the Bimini top.

Thanks
Chad

Re: 23ft Chris Craft Lancer. New floor and interior

Picked up a teak swim platform for the Lancer this past week.

It had been painted white but most of that was removed. I sanded it down trying to remove the rest of the paint but there is still some left in the grains of the wood. Hoping to use some type of stripper to remove the rest.

Any ideas what might work well to remove the last bit of paint?

Been awhile since I updated my boat thread but after the Minneapolis, Mn Boat show I have some new ideas working around in my head....
The "New carpet" I installed about 5 years ago now is laying flat and not looking that great. Im thinking about replacing it with Seadek or something similar.

Has anyone installed Seadek on a older boat with wood floors under the carpet. Seems like most I see have fiberglass decking and not wood underlayment.

Also I found a couple of pictures of the Teak platform installed on the boat and thought I would share them.

This one is kinda of close up so you can see the contour I had to cut to have it sit flush.

Also I have changed the lettering on the back of the boat to white and changed the script to mimic the TV show My three sons.
