I was a fan of picking him up to mentor Fields. Russ WAS a good QB. I had no problem with them starting Russ when he was healthy. But his age is showing and after 5 or so weeks he started playing like a tired old man. I would have been okay at that point running a 2 QB system with the goal being developing Fields. Now it is time to let Russ go and hope they can find a QB in “purgatory.”

Peculiar play calling and no urgency when you are down 18 points. Also...why would you go for 2?
