Athletes of all pro sports are paid what they are worth to the business. Ridiculous salaries to you and I but if they were not worth the pay they get owners would simply not pay them. NFL players have a 3 to 5 year shelf life. The money they earn in those years must carry them through for life. It is rumoured that Marchand Lynch has yet to touch a game check. He lives off the non gaurenteed money in his contracts and he has invested much of it. I do know he owns a bar/restaurant in Oakland I believe. He is the opposite of most players that live like the money will never stop coming in. We have to remember these are just kids in thier early 20's. Most came from inner cities and they lived an impoverished lifestyle growing up. The NFLPA try and point them in the right direction but many don't listen and are broke by the time they turn 30.
