Hello Folks.
I have a new to me 2006 MSF 18B2 that was running rough and the carb was leaking out fuel though what I guess is an overflow of some sort on the back side. I removed the carb, took it apart, soaked in carb cleaner overnight, reassembled with a few new gaskets and it is really hard to start without a shot of starting fluid. One shot of starting fluid and it takes right off. Without starting fluid I can pull ten times or more while fussing with the throttle and may get it to start. Once it starts it runs fine? What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated. I am not familiar at all with these four strokes without a choke or a Mercury style primer. Thanks, Mike.

Verify the ABS circuit is clear in the bottom of the well. Verify the ABS wiring is good.

Thanks guys, sorry for the late reply. Sometimes I get lost in these forums (old guy here). I have removed the carb three times, soaked in carb cleaner and blew out every opening I could find. I'll pull her off again tomorrow and pay special attention to the path in the above pics. ABS wiring is good and I can see the travel when hooked up to twelve volts.
