2006 Q7i Over Heating at high sppeds????

Hi im new to this site but i have a 2006 Q7i and it run great but once u gun it and start going over 20 25mph the temp goes up real quick and it starts to over heat. Has anyone had this problem i have a mercruiser 5.0 with a bravo 1.Once again the boat runs fine at idol and at low speeds but once you get on it the temp goes up??

My first question is do you know if the water impeller in the lower unit has been replaced since it was new? Has it ever been run or started with out water/ muffs on unit.And if on muffs was the rpm run over idle speed at for any length of time? If you boat in muddy/sandy water these can take a tole on the impeller as well. I know I have an outboard but I change it every year or two depending on usage and what the water pressure gauge tells me. Hope this give you an idea what to try, good luck.
