no worries
I taped the speech wher bubba Rumsfield said that gas should be 1.00 a gollon when we get out of Iraq. but I did notice that the oil copanies and some spinoffs that both Bush's, condewheezy, rumsfield, tricky **** from haliburton, and a few others are going to make some rather large dividend payouts soon :) . so keep on filling up and they keep smiling. gotta love it when the foxes take charge of the henhouse and the egg production :) .
and now it looks like Haliburton is going to get out of paying the asbestos settlment that killed my dad who never smoked in his life. all due to tricky **** cheney and some backdoor footwork.
couse HE did get a small severance sum from Haliburton.

I'm sure glad I drive a company truck. Get to bring it home and start at my first job of the day from the house.

The fact is the American public is getting the shaft, one can argue about about who is to blame or what country is responsible, it won't make any difference if the dollar keeps on losing its value. :(
What did Nero do whilst Rome burnt?

We can only blame ourselves....we have let China and the Liberals overpower us....thanks wal-mart. Electric utilities are the next to gouge us. We have a cheap and plentiful energy resource which is nuclear energy but the dumb azz liberals have decided our fate. If electric was 100% nuclear we would free up the demand for crude.prices would go down and we would have a cleaner environment.

If my memory serves me correctly, it was President Nixon who opened the chinese pandora box,and every administration since then including the present one has coddled the communist chinese regime, we tell the Israelis to vacate the Palestinian territories, the Syrians to get out of Lebanon. When are we ever going to have the guts and be prepared to tell the Chinese to get out of Tibet?
On the matter of nuclear energy, the problem arises with the available disposal methods of the radioactive waste, no one wants it in their backyard, until there is a viable alternative to the high cost and risks of our present limited system of disposal, sadly we are likely to be on the fossil fuel binge for some time to come.

Hello Big Dee.
Nice to know that The Chinese and me have overpowered you.Gives me this great feeling of accomplishment.
But just to show you that my communist buddies and me have not completely realized our victory over you and your kind,I think you should know that the biggest anti nuclear power people of the seventies were not a bunch of unwashed hippies, but logically big coal and big oil,who are currently reaping the benefits of their succesful fight against nuclear power. They are making some nice profits off oil these days.

Actually, the dollar sux, and what is happening is they are beginning to stop buying. We are NOT creating wealth anymore, just pushing useless paper around in service jobs that create NOTHING. Wealth is created by a kid buying candy from the guy that runs the drugstore, how at the moment has a TV repairman at his house, while his daughter works at the candy maker, saving money to buy a TV. Not the government, taxing away your money, to give to the big construction company to build a road so joe blow can lay more cement to get paid in dollars that will be spent at Harbor Frieght, to go to China, never to be seen again. My take, ...we will be china slaves within a 100 years
Ps. "Oprah" makes my pension for the next 20 years in one day, and buys a island. I buy Spam.

Time to jump into the fire....

Was overseas recently...(Rome, Croatia, Bosnia) and guess what I didn't see a single one of?

Fullsize truck or SUV being driving by anybody but a construction worker or a delivery person. At 2.50eur/liter = approx $10/gallon nobody could afford to fill a 30 gallon, gas guzzlin, air polluting luxury item that gets 10 miles/gal. Most people walked, took public transportation, drive scooters or VERY small cars...most car had propane tanks instead of gas (or had both).
We as Americans have the some of the lowest gas prices in the world and we use the majority of it wastefully. Want to get the prices down...push for an alternative fuel source and make the oil companies keep their prices down.

When the prices raise (like they continue to) I just tell myself that I still have it better than most people in the world.

Happy boating (or if the prices get too high- happy sailing)

JustMrWill

The stone throwing and "NOT ME" scream from the red states is deafening. It's so good to see there are people out there with their eyes open and not full of s**t from the Republican party. Eyes open to see that the current administration clearly favors big business, under the guise of getting government out of everyones lives. The current administration clearly favors the energy industry. And all the self-serving republicans can scream foul and wrong all they want, bu tlook at the facts, taxes are higher overall, no tincome but hte "hidden" taxes, energy prices are higher that ever, and the cost to live far outpaces the claimed inflation rate. The administration admitted in the days after black Tuesday last November, that they had overstated the gains in the economy and jobs, that the nation had actually lost ground. I don't know about the rest of you but my family is not better off now than we were before W was appointed in 2000, or elected in 2004.

Glad to see a like minded American. The Republican party see the American sheeple as stupid, and easy to deceive. A lie repeated enough will take on a life of truth, and the Rpublican party relies on this. But then again what do I know? Since I don't follow the 'publican party blindly, unquestioningly, I'm a Liberal Democrat

Ah yes! Them nasty lil' hidden taxes on the go-go juice...

Repeal all taxes on gas... One station I pulled into a while back had stickers on the pumps that state the amount per gallon that you are actually paying in taxes per gallon of gas... Last time I filled up there, the amount in federal, state, county, and city taxes was $.32 cents per gallon, and thats been a while back...

Today, that amount in tax may be $.48 cents or more per gallon according to http://www.energy.ca.gov/gasoline/statistics/gas_taxes_by_state_2002.html

Did anyone hear that OPEC cut production in late January, Duh, it aint funny that always a month after they cut production the prices sky rocket.

I still say we need to build more refineries and start producing our own for our own needs at home.

DJ, I agree with you China is up to NO GOOD. With all the scrap steel and their demand for oil? This just didn't gradually happen. They have a plan to do something. They are running out of room and need to expand. Something is going to happen and it aint gonna be good.

Why don't the Congress or the President himself put a stop to this? Or is this just a way to Make the people accept drilling in Alaska's protected reserve? Remember the vote is comming up. My husband thinks it is to get the Spring break travelers.I think every american should write some one a letter every day to remind them next vote they Wont get from us, But who do we write?
Serenity

Whoops...don't you mean Japan? China is twice the size of the US, and 3 times the population I think. Prepare to be buried (in cheap tools!)

IMHO you're very astute Serenity. I think it's a combination of the Alaska drilling thing, but in addition, the energy industry is close buddies with the current administration. And the energy idustry is posting record profits under this administration. So they're reaping double rewards from the prices. And I heard that OPEC was supposedly increasing their ourput by 1/2 million barrels a day. Just in time for summer, and the higher gouge-the-tourist prices (we call 'em fudgies here in N Lower Michigan). Wow, wish I had friends/profit opportunities like that.
