This would be my first boat in many years.
Has anyone around enjoyed this boat? My main goal is to enjoy with the family, some tubing-skying, maybe fishing, just spending time in the water and under the sun.
What should I look for when finally checking the boat (besides hull, engine)?
Thanks

What motor does it have? If it was well maintained it should be a great boat for you. Rot is your biggest concern. Check carefully for ANY soft spots in the deck. They are usually indicative of more serious issues below. If she's solid, go for it.

We've enjoyed ours. Looking at a repower this winter due to the incompetent idiot that winterized it a couple years ago.

I may swap the helm seats out for a pair of pedestal seats also. I like the one's Frisco put in his 220.

Post your location and pictures of the boat. I may be able to give you some more specific pointers on your SeaRay.

Edit to add a link to Frisco's resto thread. Great stuff...

Mercuiser 5.7 (1999) 250 HP.
No soft spots so far.
Deck is supposed to be wood or fiber?

That's great power for that boat. Deck is most likely plywood with a fiberglass covering.

That seems to have uploaded a .zip file of some email... without any pics. :)
Here's a link to Woodonglass's most excellent tutorial on navigating the somewhat complicated process of uploading pics. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=410147
I find it easier to upload pics that I want to post to a free account on photobucket.com. Then I just hover over the picture I want with my mouse and it will let you click on a box titled IMG code. That copies the code to link a picture in your post to the picture on the photobucket site. You can type about something, drop a pic right in by copying the code and pasting it in, keep typing, drop another pic, etc. Makes your posts really sleek, IMO.

I worked for a company that supplied controls to Sea Ray. They were a real pain. They had the best quality control department of all our customers. If they found even a little scratch on an exposed item, they would reject and return the whole shipment.

A pain for us, but I decided that if I were ever to buy a new boat, it would be a Sea Ray!!!
