Real progress made!
I went out there and looked at what needed to be done, sat there trying to figure out how I could physically get it done by myself. Gave up after an hour and went back into the house!
Called my 75 y.o. buddy up north and we discussed it... for another hour!
About then, my neighbor buddy texted that he wanted to pick up some brackets from me, so I talked him into helping me get the 2 batteries connected and installed along with the onboard charger.
Thirty minutes later, he was done and gone! Always great to have a strong young friend who knows what he's doing to help.
I was wondering about where to splice in the circuit breakers and he said to use a bus bar instead. He grabbed a piece of aluminum stock laying around, put a bit into my drill press, cut the holes, then put the strips into my vice and used my angle grinder cutoff wheel to form the bus bars and installed them onto the cables and battery. Only took him about 5 minutes!
Then we mounted the charger and cables onto the backing board and together we got it installed under the front of the port console. He could do a lot more than me, but I did actually help.
I screwed the mounting bolts in from the front of the console and he steadied them from the inside. The front 120VAC outlet was mounted too.
Next was to make sure that all the cables were connected and nice and tight.
Then the box lids were installed and everything buttoned up.
I plugged the charger in from the front outlet to test operation.
It all works and I am one happy man!
