In reference to my last thread, I have been able to further inspect the flooring in the boat (1997 Gemini DCX18), I found the factory put a drain in the floor under the right console. The opening under the carpet looks like it just runs into the area under the floor. My thought was to fit in a new piece of wood as I have read in other threads of how to replace flooring. But I guess my main question is why do I need the drain ? I was also going to coat the top side of the wood with TUFF COAT liner. I've tried to submit some pictures but they wont upload. Thank You Michael.....

Hello Taylor..and welcome to Iboats..

The drian might be for standing water so dont cover it unless you know that its not just there for no reason.

Pics would really help out..as allready suggested from a member on another thread of yours.

YD.

PS. You really should/need to keep one project on one thread.. If you feel the need to bump it bump it :) .

You need a drain somewhere, un-less the 'deck' is self bailing, meaning, water has a way to get off the boat, either a drain hole into the 'bilge' (under the deck) or off the deck through scupper holes.

"Flooring" is done on land...on a boat it's called decking.
