ok so i got all the wet rotted wood out. Port side was completely wet and rotting. Starboard had a few damp pcs. so I removed the bad and will put new wood where needed. I plan on using vinyl ester for this as I have a gallon and figure that would be strong enough being as it sits ontop of another layer of ply that attaches to stringers.
I have a little more woven roving So I plan on a layer of csm and a layer of woven. Will a layer of csm be enough on the side i am pb to liner? I plan on doing the flat on the bench then pb it up to liner then tab it on

Port side

Uhmmm CSM is NOT very structural. I'd prolly use some biax or woven for the tabbing too! Doesn't have to be full tabbings. A few pieces placed at intervals just to ensure she stays put. That's an Old Dumb Okies opinion.!!!;)

I did a poor job explaining myself I plan on using 1708 for the tabbing. Thats about how much I have left. The rest I plan on using csm and woven on one side 1 layer of each. then the other side just csm. That side will get pbed to liner.

OK, Gotcha Now!!! Yup on layer of CSM is ample for waterproofing the underside of the plywood. Of course, again, That's just an Old Dumb Okies opinion.!!!;)

Actually the underside is getting 1 csm and 1 woven roving, the side with 1 csm is going to get pbed to the bottom of the liner. I think i made that hard to understand. It was clear in my head Haha

OK the area in green I removed the wood as it was a little damp. the red area was dry so I left it as is There are a couple areas where the old glass pulled some wood off I'll fill this wit pb. So will I be able to glass above my head? I am doing this with vinyl ester

I would ask Sir Isaac Newton. Looks like a real challenge. The Vpoly may just do the trick here. :joyous:

Use smaller sheets of CSM, wet out the area . Tape one end of the CSM to the end of the area and then lift and roll it into place and don't use a lot of resin. Mix the Vpoly a bit hot so it will kick a bit faster that's why you do smaller pieces at a time. Bubble roller helps to. Tape edges as you go on a lengthy piece. Not fun but can be done. Baby sit it to check for sags and bubbles. Smaller pieces = Less Weight=Less sagging. Wear a HAT and Long Sleeves!!!???:D;)

so I put 1 layer of csm on the side that gets pb ed to the liner and 1 layer of csm and 1 layer of woven roving to the bottom side. I pb the csm side and clamped it up to the liner. Now I'll wait to tomorrow and remove clamps. then I'll tab it in with 1708 tape.
