Re: 1990 VIP Vision Transom replacement help wanted.

Here are some photos of the deck and gunnels all foamed and glassed in. I also put a coat of Durabak down on the deck. It looks great! I should have sanded the seams a little more so the transition doesnt so as much but it will have to do. I will paint the gunnels, transom and bilge on Wednesday, let it dry for a couple days then drop in the motor...woo hoo. I might have a boat in time for things to cool down enough to make it bearable outside. DSC_0007.jpgDSC_0015.jpgDSC_0028.jpgDSC_0033.jpgDSC_0040.jpg

Re: 1990 VIP Vision Transom replacement help wanted.

The floor and gunnels are all painted up and ready to go now. Yay!

I have drilled out the holes for to attach the outdrive to the transom. The studs on the upper gear housing that go through the transom are 7/16". I drilled out 7/16" holes and i can get the upper gear housing to fit flush against the outside of the transom. When i Look at the holes that were there originally it appears that they were drilled out wider then the studs. Is is ok if I go a size or two larger on the holes? will this cause any problems?

Also I have had to sand some of the gelcoat down on on the transom what should I use or coat it with?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe
