hmm so this morning i put some gas in the tank, not sure how long it willl take to expand but i figured by pre expanding it i could make sure i got a tight fit, didint like the idea of putting in loose and hoping i had expansions right, also i purchased from tractor supply those rubber mats i will cut up and line tank area with , fully supporting with rubber seemed like a better idea then just strips, it isn't a aluminum tank so rubber against the poly shouldn't cause corrosion :)

The seperations of the rubber strips let the coffin breath all around the tank. Might have problems with moisture if tank lies completely on da rubber.

something to think about, although its a poly tank so not really sure what moisture could do to it :)

I hear ya. It is tease weather here. I keep getting 58 degrees and then it drops again. It is supposed to snow tomorrow. River is receding but still flooded. We stopped at the landing today as we were out and looked.

Come on so I can get this show on the road.

Haha, I was going to whine that our highest temp has been 62° so far. I'll bite my tongue at the thought of more of the white stuff. The fiberglass might seem slow, but your doing most of the work right now. Keep it up.

nope, i Used lanco ultra roof sealer after sealing with resin,, this boat stays dry under cap in this area due to self bailing hull, however i wanted to be sure wood was as waterproof/humidity proof as i could make it and chose this because it remains flexible, i tested it for 24 hrs with oil and gas and different cleaning agents, none of it softened it however in the bilge area where engine goes i will be using gel coat because that area is so reinforced it should never crack gel cote from flexing.
also it acts like sound proofing as well :)

i am still laughing that someone was such a dirtbag as to only paint the hull paint around outside of bunks rofl
reminds me of the time a kid washed his moms car but only drivers side , i asked why he goes mom never walks around car so i figured as long as side she saw was clean i was good to go !

I'm strongly considering line-x or Raptor liner for hull with a keel protector i have seen the pro's of it haven't found cons and don't want to put Gelcote because i see how well that held up already, and bottom paint on a trailer boat seems kind of silly.

I have chips like that on mine, right on the chine and at the bow. How do you fix those?

Learning from you sensei's is fun

clean, sand, dry, fill, and sand is my go to , i will use fumed silica and resin and glass if needed. if its a chip that's hollow sometimes you can fill it with a syringe. as mine will be painted i wont go to great lengths to match original gel coat .
