Re: 1988 Riviera Cruiser

I haven't been doing much work to it over the summer but got in a lot of cat fishing, ended up so far with a total of 230 pounds and now that the water temps are starting to drop off the fishing is slowing down and have a few weeks before the stripers start hitting I took some time and built a new helm like I wanted.

I has made the case some time ago so when I got the chance I brought it home from the lake and started in.

the case after I got the holes cut out

and I added some 3/4 PVC trim board to the bottom to stop and water wicking into the wood, should make it last a lot longer

and after it came back

start of the install, pulled out the old one and the rats nest of wires. Knowing I was going to replace it I had left a lot of extra slack in the wiring.

Re: 1988 Riviera Cruiser

because ever thing had been per-cut all I had to do was use a razor knife to remove the vinyl and foam

the access door is going to be a slip over a stud type with wing nuts to hole it in place, I used epoxyed in SS T nuts from the back and its a simple matter of threading in screws, and it should make it a lot eraser to put the cover back on, the studs sticking out will hold it in place

And the final install

What kind of grill is that and did you make the stand for it?
