So here it is finally mounted on the transom !
I don't know if we are the only ones who struggled A LOT with this seal ?
We tried to glue it a little bit with marine adhesive sealant so it sticks in place (keep on dreaming...)... at last one was pulling the gimbal from inside the boat and the other one was sliding his hands between the gimbal and transom to fit the seal in his slot. The sealant helped to prevent it from moving, we added an extra layer between the seal and transom prior to mounting... it was messy but in the end, the seal was in place!
I don't know why they don't produce those premolded ?
Another question come from the anode bolts... there are no seal between the bolt and gimbal, the plastic O-ring in the blister is for the anode itself accordind to exploded views :
So theoretically speaking, there is no sealing between the bolt itself and the gimbal? We weren't sure that water won't infiltrate, even if it's ultra tighten. We added more sealant to prevent this from happening :
What do you guys do for this issue ?
and that's all for this session...
Next 2 sessions will be, bringing the motor and the motor mounting structure to the shed.
