Thanks, the marriage has been some time coming now. Been living together for a few years, so not much has "changed".

The couch is very comfy, too bad I spend my time on the bridge when the waters moving by. It is however the place to go when we are anchored or at the dock.

Electric head and holding tank are in. Toilets mounted on a mahogany platform due to the height difference. It's fresh water fed and will get two vent lines in and out. The head is close, just needs the laminate cut for the walls and some additional trim.

Good luck tweaking those engines. I have no doubt you'll get them lined out before too long.

I am constantly amazed by the quality of your work. The woodwork in the Head is amazing too.

Thanks, the motors will come along.

The idea of painting the mahogany verse varnish came up. I decided on varnish as it goes along with the rest of the wood.

First round of LEDs. I definately like the look of them. Nice sitting on the deck with that glow below you. Going to do some on the bridge, and elsewhere. Try not to mind the messy unfinished carpet...

Would you mind sharing what type of LED's you put in and where you got them? I like the color changing ability, but many of the color changing light strips don't seem to be weatherproof.

Progress looks great!

Thanks, most of the wood is factory, but I plan to keep adding a little more to make it richer but not overdone.

Update.

Survey showed the AC did function, but wouldn't pump cold air. On a whim we opened the seacock and gave it a shot. A nice stream of water out the side, she kicked on and the air is ice cold! Even at the lowest setting last night, it was too chilly with the doors and hatches closed! That's a small victory.

Another item the survey showed needing attention was the genset. It spun over but never fired. Appeared the fuel pump was shot. Just for fun my father put it on the bench and gave her power. The fuel pump worked alright. It's clearly gummed up with sediment, which is being cleaned out now, but the fact it seemed to function is a good sign. It will be nice to make sure it runs and generates power before we start throwing money into it.

Head wall panels are cut, just need to be shaped with a finished edge, before installing.

Slowly getting there.

Head wall covering was wallpaper. Half the owner before me did (or one of them) the other half original. It was removed and a white Formica is being cut and installed. The edges will be sealed, the trim work covers most of it, but the seams will be water tight. Once the walls are in I can finish the wood trim work, and the heads set!

Gotcha, I like the formica idea. Once sealed in, it should last a long time.
Mine is all molded 1 piece ,,, the bottom half anyway with Formica above for the top half

Yup, the bottom is all molded glass, the top half was wallpaper, with teak wood trim. I think taking that off and doing formica should make it a bit easier to keep clean for years to come.

Should be installing tomorrow.

Took the boat out for a raft up yesterday. Had a good time. Boat ran well, and actually ran down on one motor to see how that works. 1400 RPM on the starboard motor and she did 6-7 mph at a slack tide with little to no current. The boat is just a whole lot more usable than the Cruisers. Having the reclining couch, and the room is hard to beat.

The raft up group. Had a fair amount of boats, good food and a good time! They stayed the weekend, we had to head back that night.

Snapped a photo from the waterline of the boat. Still fairly clean, although the time in the water is making her a bit dirty.

Update.

The laminate was cut this past week, and tonight it was installed. There is still more trim work to do, but it looks much better than bare wood walls. Slowely but surely.

i cant believe i'm saying this to you(especially, lol) that laminate really sets off the wood trim (like kandy!). and now that i'm off the phone and on the real puter,,,,,, your ship looks stunning. you are doing her justice man! too bad she had to wait so long to get you in her grasp! i'm officially re"inspired"

I think your the not one still following along!

I had visions of doing wood Vaneesha walls soaked in varnish, but decided against it. It works on the old Chris crafts and egg harbors but just wouldn't fit right in the Silverton. I think the white laminate looks great. It's clean, bright and actually feels like a larger head. There will be more trim and a custom made mirror as we get things done.

I'm going for a more restored original look, then a custom look.

I'm also working on some of the cabinet doors. They are currently laminated and if you recall I used a veneer to cover the laminate. On the vberth door, I took her apart and decided to simply try flipping the center section. It's a wood panel and although the wood coloring is a bit lighter, it's not a bad look. That door has two coats of poly now and will get a few more before a sanding and varnish.

I took the galley cabinet door home to try and stain the center to match. If I get it close, the rest of the cabin wood work may get redone sooner than I thought.
