That area under the consoles is where my soft tackle box landed, easy access and it will ride there just fine down the road. Having the Al piece there is a good idea to make sure the boxes don't work they're way aft. :thumb:
Yes I've done that on a few of our rebuilds, really handy, got the idea from a 2003 Lund 1700 fisherman I had but they just had a mesh type curtain drawn across, but it didn't hold to well so we went with the solid aluminum.
I wouldn't mind a price on a set. One for each side of the Islander or on the dog house. They would go well with my 1'x1' diamond plate rigger base plates.
