Also would you use any type of rtv on the head gasket as well?
Head gasket is put on dry.....if you removed the head cover it will need to be sealed with RTV, as there is no gasket there.
Glad you didn't run out and buy a new fuel pump, as was mentioned earlier.....Lol.

Any type of rtv or high heat?

And just around the cylinders? No need to rtv the outside edge of the head cover right?

All the mating surfaces will need to be sealed.....or it will leak. High heat RTV will be good.....just don't get crazy with it.....any excess will squeeze out and could clog up the water passages.....
