Wow, how things ^^^ turn against you quick in this joint...

Honestly, based on the reams of data supporting the NON-glasser lifestyle Jas has chosen for himself & his family, unfortunately, I seriously doubt the SeaRay will avoid the major organ harvest.

It is however likely to be spared the saw-zall motor-ectomy Jas is 'known' for...

I was putting my money on oops forgot the drain plug :watermelon: in his haste to water test the motor..................

Perhaps he snagged a willing soul at the dock & is hammering out the details to harvest the motor & send the SeaRay on to bluer, calmer waters elsewhere w/ that buyer............

How are the fish biting up in MI this week, perhaps their still fishing out of it :) it is a long weekend.

Regardless, hope all is well, and Jen hasn't done anything rash :faint2:

OK ya, real quick, that 32 footer is pretty cool, but yup, I'm good here.

Matter of fact, believe it or not, with what I have here on the property, my MBS is nearly cured! Seriously:becky:

Well, I couldn't quite get the stars to align to get the Sea Ray out for a run unfortunately. And, she seemed to be getting pretty comfortable sitting out there. I didn't want her to get the wrong impression that she'd be here any longer than necessary, so, I started in on driveline removal.

Here's the outdrive pulled...

Everything looking good there!

After that, I removed all that stern structure for easy access to the V8...

The rust I'm seeing is pretty much on those front side pulleys basically from a shotty rotted out dog house.

Everything else looks darn good so far!

This morning, under cloak of darkness, headlamp on, I knuckle busted and had some general blood letting as I unbolted, disconnected electrical and unhooked all the plumbing. So, the big Merc is prepped and ready for flight:thumb:

Did you not fire her up before all this disassembly?

Yah, when I took delivery. I just didn't have the camera with me at the time.

I'll run it to winterize here shortly and shoot some video for you guys eh:thumb:

I didn't make the mess, I just watched!

That surface rust on the pulleys and PS pump is no big deal, all cosmetics that can be easily fixed up.

What a ride. :D MBS is easily conquered. Just keep buying. When the wife starts aimlessly wandering around the house and yard with a dazed look  and muttering "...another boat, he brought home another boat..." then you know you are over the hump and everything will be fine. LMAO

Yah, and if my buddy has his way, there's going to be a lot fixed on this V8! I was talking to him again today...

I winterized mine today. Dropped the motor off the transom saver. :D Why? Because the dart tossers say Wed. thru Fri. morning lows will be 23-28. Brrr! That's cold for down here. And they say a chance of SNOW! :smow::eek:

Power to ya man for knuckling down and takin' care of business!

Outies or Innies those temps would require making sure the bottom ends where drained anyways.... you just have an extra step.

Snowing here in the am and tonight calling for 2-4+"..... winter is saying "HELLO"!

Gib, yours & Jas' aren't the only ones.......

Mine sees her responses as an art form: They NEED to be shared :cold: often several times to make sure the message is CLEARLY heard....

AND she doesn't hide the skillet, she wants it easily accessible for deployment & use at ANY moment

Nice work winter prepping the motor just ahead of the temp falling.... Hope to see it free flying soon........ Any plan yet to off-load the Ray or is it to be stripped for shredding?

Re: 1983 26' Starcraft Sportfisherman 261V Rebuild

Yah, Jen has really had just about enough of me and my boat shenanigans. Heck, I've have had about enough too!

Yup, I'd like to get the V8 hoisted out this afternoon actually. I'll post up that Sea Ray for sale and let it go for a few days anyway. If it doesn't sell pretty quick I'll start pullen stuff out and selling it off. I was able to pop the deck enough to see that nice alum tank is a 44 gallon, that's good stuff. Lots of other good parts in there too. We'll see what I can do with it.

Well, we found our way to the upper teens last night - glad that engine was drained out. Hope all you OB guys took the 1.3 seconds to drop your motor down for drainage. Yes, I know you think your motor is the cats jammies - and your poop don't stink:rolleyes:

Cheers fellas:becky:
