In the spring I picked up a 79 Starcraft 22 foot center console on the cheap to rebuild into a do all fish, layout tender and bigger water sea duck boat. A couple months before I bought a 19' bluefin but when I found the Starcraft I had to snatch it up. It needs new foam, a new floor, new transom, and a new battleship camp paint job. I'm also repowering it.

I'll post some pics from my phone in a few

I think I found the last boat made with styrofoam they switched to pour in with about 5' left

I'm soda blasting the seams and rivets and just sanding the rest

The transom wasn't in to terrible shape but I figured while I was rebuilding it might as well replace it. plus im going to need a strong transom for the beast I'm hanging off the back.

Never seen a 22' V5 center console.

Do you have a title or a plate that states the model you have?

I think you might have an SS that was rebuilt as a CC. That would explain why there are 2 types of foam.

Great project, have fun and look forward to the build.

I'm almost positive it came as a cc if it didn't it was done very well. It had 2 big live wells up front that didn't look added on. And I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple in all the searching I've done.

She's gonna make a great fishin' machine, rowdy. Good find! Looking in the back alleys can pay off. :D

What power is going on the back to replace the 140HP Dorm Fridge?

I have a 1995 mercury 3.0l 225. more horsepower then I was looking for but $1800 for a good running 225 with like new controls I couldn't say no. The plate says it rated for up to a 240hp. But I'm pretty sure this thing is going to fly!

Ok 64osby. You got me wondering now. This is the plate it's hard to read but I see a SUP might of been a SS. My title says model "unknown"

Are these rob holders factory

If this was a SS somebody spent some $ on the conversion back in the day. The live wells were a perfect molded plastic to the shape of the nose on both sides up front I'll see if I can find pics

I see them, JB. Might have taken a few extra minutes to it make over the hump.

I think I see the SUP, too. Whoever put her together did a heck of a job to look like a factory Mariner.

In '79 they made a Super Sport 22 V-5. In 80 they made a Mariner V220.

What is your HIN. Should help define the year it was made. Your blue stripe looks like a 79 SS 22 V-5.

Maybe it was a prototype built in 79 using the SS hull to model the 80 Mariner V220.

None of this matters of course, you have an awesome CC to rebuild. :D

Posting mainly so I remember to watch,

Find it funny about that era - I can't remember the year but a local guy I met through iboats posted up a mariner that had a single side console and everyone said it should of been a CC originally and had been converted. Every time I looked at it I said man this must of been a factory conversion because it was done so well. Perhaps SC was trying to figure out which they way were going to go with it.
