Will the hammer smack loosen the rivet from the stringer enough to allow the existing rivet to be thru punched? If it's loose, it'll like end up in the bilge anyway after you drill the head off.... Then you might go 1/32-1/16" bigger rivet (but maybe not?) & use the existing deck & stringer holes..... Probably want to make a little bit deeper countersink though, leave you enough room to fill w/ epoxy & sand smooth as suggested.

I'm a little late to this party, but on all three SS's I have layed vinyl on the floor and just left the rivets above the way yours were. They were hardly noticable when looking at the floor, and unless you were in bare feet you wouldn't know you stepped on one. And most important if I ever had to pull a section of floor, it is real easy to drill the rivets and save the section of floor.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm going to go through and add a correctly c'sunk rivet next to the ones that are in there. Then I'll drill the tall ones out and they'll get filled with epoxy when I seal the deck.

EZ, I've always liked the looks of your interior. Very clean looking. Not sure if i'll vinyl the sides or not yet, but I would lilke to do the floor for sure.

Last night I did some final fitting/sanding on the console fronts. Tonight I plan to drill the mounting holes oversize and fill them with epoxy when I coat them. Then I'll redrill them. I hesitate to say this, but paint may be coming up in the next month or so.

Odds and ends to do yet:

Finish Battery Box and rear seat. This will be the most work
Make backers for the cleats and bow rail mounts
Mount a couple transom grab handles
Make a way to mount my stereo and VHF under the starboard console
Make a switch panel
Re-rivet some of the deck
Recut the bow seat wood. (I already did this using the originals as templates, but, the original didn't fit worth a crap so the new ones don't either.)
Seal the deck
Swim Platform

Missing anything? The motor may wait till winter to get painted. I want to get the boat painted before snow flies.

DJ you should be able to vinyl the sides but the marine adhesive I bought from Cabelas surely won't work. It takes a couple days for that stuff to set up and the vinyl sags while it's curing. I had to redo my dead peddle cause the vinyl fell off before it cured.

E what kind of Adhesive did you use?

I used contact cement for both the wood floor and aluminum side pockets when I put in my Nautolex. I couldn't seem to find Nautolex 88 as recommended by the manufacturer in Ontario, so I used Ducan dek-master adhesive. http://www.ducan.com/
I also tried one can of 3M 80 spray adhesive in the side pocket. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/...0GE3E02LECIE204A00000000_univid=1114284884899
It worked fine, but doesn't go very far, only 1 1/2 pockets per $40 can.

A little epoxying tonight on the console panels, takes a few more steps doing the over drill, fill, redrill method.

Nautolex's.

I ran out of adhesive when I was like 95% done so to finish the job I substituted some Roberts 6700 outdoor carpet adhesive from Home Depot and it seemed to work fine as well. Super cheap to so that's something you might want to look into. Do a couple sample spots first.

Yah, I kinda figure if you do just a bit each day eventually a guy has to run out of stuff to do. Right? Seems like it anyway:rolleyes:

Gone some cutting, machining, and drilling done at work yesterday on my rear battery box/seat/splashwell panel. One more Saturday morning should get it done. I don't have everything tapped yet so the box part is not screwed together yet. There will be 3 Splashwell panels that will hold the seat backs and slide down into the channels. The outboard 2 seat bottoms will span between the box and the side panel.

Tonight I sent an email to the lady doing my seats weather she was going to be able to do them (it's been 1 1/2 years since I dropped off the new back to back bases). She emailed me a pic:
