I love these guys! All ready to jump in and help out. All great experience. Years of stuff you just can't put in a book. I never had a ski boat and would have never gone that thought direction.
BTW ski or not lockers/hatches rock for storage on any size boat. They are simply built with .....

If I were to put in a stowage locker, would I lose any structural support? Be nice to put oars and other lengthy items under there.

No, because you are tying it all together as bulkheads to stringers. Actually the combination is stronger in my opinion.

Well this raises a warning flag ……. Looking into the stringers of my boat right now, I have NO BULKHEADS. There is only a few strips of plywood (1/2”) tied into the tops of the stringers to hold ‘em together. Not like the typical designs you see on other boats. No I’m really confused.

So ask, measure and ask and measure again. Somewhere it becomes very very cool. I went from a smaller boat to a monster.

Well you'll be fixin that real soon. Now ya know it's time to rip it out clean and start it back the right way.

Found this thread, he has the exact same boat but in green. As you can see on second page he has no bulkheads either, you can see the notched out stringers for ply to run across the tops. Is this really how Chrysler did the valiant boats?

It is amazing the different structures are under the floors of all these boats. Yours has no side to side structure (bulkheads), mine had no fore to aft structure (stringers). I did add one more bulkhead to give it more strength and did 2# foam for more strength, there was NO foam in my boat, wondering how close it was to becoming a yacht anchor at some point. My transom was also only 1" thick also, SMDH at that design approval to hold a max 60 hp engine.

I forgot to add my .02 about pour foam. I agree with above posters, cut out the holes with a hole saw and pour it in. Mine was fun because I decided to do it when our Florida winter happened the weekend I was wanting to do the foam, needs to be 80f. Finally got the garage warm enough at 3am!
