Oh man it's just about time for a boat ride! Looking forward to seeing that SS busting some waves and making a wake.

I like the entire boat, but that interior is such a major upgrade from original. Really sets it off!

Wow that's lookin great ! I really like the gray/red colors.
Every time I see your avatar I get thinking we need flags like that for our tin to sport off the stern ;)

Thanks Franken. Ya know I had the same thought when I was mounting up my anchor light yesterday.

Bow seating is about done. Eventually want to figure out a removable piece to make one solid platform up front.

The princess testing the cushions. She approved!

Your SS is turning out real nice.

Here is how we did our casting deck.

It is an insert that rests on the inside walls under the seat cushions. The seat cushions can still be lifted up for storage access.

I've added a door that flips up and rests against the walk through windshield for those colder rides up the lake. I don't have a pic of it yer though.

So tonight I figured I'd get the old 55hp tin pusher bolted on. I ordered brand new stainless bolts, lock nuts, and had my tube of 5200 ready to go. Got everything set to go and then made the dreaded text. (Since this is a two person task). "Hey honey, would you mind coming out to the garage for 15 minutes and hold a wrench while I tighten these bolts?".......... 5 minute pause.......... Reply: "No.......Ugh, Give me a few minutes". 10 minutes later SWMBO is seen peering through the garage door. She enters. Inaudible grunting about bugs, already in pjs, etc... Luckily she didn't bring her fry pan. I give her the run down and assure her this will only take a minute. She climbs in the boat. More grumbling about bugs. She spins the nuts on as I make a few off color jokes, she is not amused. Bolt 1, 2, & 3 go textbook. Bolt 4, wheels come off. Halfway through tightening the bolt it locks up tighter than a frogs butt. It's not binding, it's not cross threaded, it's just Murphy knowing I drug my wife outside and now I'm being punished. After 30 minutes of trying to tighten it or loosen it, lots of swearing and a new dent in the splashwell I had to cut the damn thing off with the sawzall. At this juncture everything is gooped up with 5200, luckily I had a old bolt that would work. Talked my beautiful wife back in the boat and finished up the task. 1hr 45min to put in 4 bolts. Not a bad nights work.

Splash was a success. Motor ran great and it didn't sink. Even tossed out a line a few times. With a good wind to our back we got 30mph out of the old 55hp Rude per GPS.
