I really like that step you put on the back. The whole thing has turned out very nice.

Looks great. What material did you make the backing for the curved bow rail cushion? I may use pvc.

Used 3/8" plywood, then set the ends on saw horses and put a few sandbags in the center for a couple days to put a little bend in them.

Well back from the week at the lake. We had a fantastic time and ran a lot of gas through the boat. We tubed, cruised and fished all week long. Only had one issue with a junk new starter solenoid on the motor. But replaced that and she was good to go. The old 55hp did a respectable job pulling the tubes around, but she had her limit if you had a full boat. Lol.

Cottage came with executive parking.

Tube loaded up.

Pulling the double tube, with my son in it. Nice and slow, just how he likes it. Pretty sure he would have liked to just drift behind. Lol. Friend had his FIL all original 80's 18SS out so he took some photos of us.

Kids fishing

Passing under a road on the chain of lakes, she fit like a glove.

Well I think I can stick a fork in this one and call it done. It was a fun project and one I'm planning on keeping around for awhile. Kids really enjoyed it and mentioned a couple times how much fun they had working on it and the pride of knowing they had a hand in getting it ready for our vacation. Seeing the kids smile, that's what it's all about for me.

There's nothing better than a vacation centered around a boat on the water!

CB- I gotta say, this is may be my favorite thread- that or WM's SN, but anyways, I can talk about your paint job, and everything else, but I LOVE the layout of this boat. You can turn this from a family cruiser, to a tube towing boat, to a fishing boat (and fish any style, btw) simply by changing seats around. I know guys that pay $25k for boats like this.

Excellent job, and as Decker said above, I enjoyed and find myself coming back to this thread a lot!

Weeelllll...... She's back in the garage. Lol. I can't leave anything alone. But when a deal comes up, I can't say no.

Guy posted up this 70hp that he had on an old pontoon and it was just too much motor for it. He wanted something smaller so I offered up the 55hp in trade. He hauled his whole rig over to the house so we could run the motors and make sure we were both happy. Checked out fine and we swapped. Best part was I got to keep my 55hp factory bolt on TnT unit and he tossed in a running 18hp with eclectic start.

That 3 cyl Johnny is a way better motor choice for your 16'r, it's not that it's just 15 HP more, they have the large gear case and that extra cyl makes for more grunt down low.
