Transom came out really easy on this one. Went so fast I almost forgot to snap a picture. No resto thread is complete without it. Almost as bad as a no glovit drying picture.

Kiddos back at with the shop vac..

Got everything taken off the gunnels and it's officially stripped.

Got it back on the trailer so I could wheel it out of the garage to give it a good scrubbing, picked up a new toy to help with that and the looming next task of stripping paint. Would love to be doing that but it's snowing like mad right now.

One more example of a guy getting a perfectly good boat boat and tearing the heck out of her. LOL

Ya got her cleared for action after having the kids do all the dirty work! A plan comes together. :joyous:

Off to a good start, Charlie.

That is true though, I could have mounted the motor on and been in business. But what fun would that have been. Lol

Got the inside all washed out and rolled her over.

Had my buddy come over to help. "Hold this, I wanna take a picture ". Lol

Tracing out the stripe on paper to use as a template later.

My least favorite part...... but going well. Killed one gallon of Dads easy spray stripper, was reminded how good a job it does when I had to get some zip strip from the local hardware store. Zip strip sucks.

Almost done....

Sure is nice having helpful buddies and ones without a neck are the best when it comes to manhandling tin!

There's a milestone, nothing stands between you and the rebuild now. :thumb:

My bud does have a neck, this is a god awful picture, I'm sure he wouldn't mind me posting it. Lol

And yes, swoosh is going back on. I don't think there has or ever will be a better design on a boat. IMO.

Great progress and looking nice and clean now. I wish mine would have stripped so nicely. There was no floatation down the middle of my 81 ss180. I like that third stringer I never had that either.

Boat is all stripped now. Started doing a little work om interior parts.

Got a wiring question.... I took photos of the hookups when I picked up the motor but lost them when my phone crashed. Bummer.

Issue is the TnT unit on it.

So I get that the big wires are the battery hook ups for it. But then there is this stray green wire.

These wires would be up at the dash and some/all were connected to a switch on the dash.

Then I've got this small black wire that comes from the lift cylinder on passenger side, tucks between the motor and is zip tied on the opposite side. It has a terminal clip on it.

I'm thinking that I may have some extra wires being run up to the dash. But hope some is familiar with the wiring.

Been picking away at things till the temps get a little warmer for paint.

New prop, starter solenoid, and some paint.

The old prop had gone through hell it looked.

Filling holes with JB and prepping the interior painted parts.

Cutting new wood for the bow cushions.

Slapped some vinyl on the motor today. She's never looked so good. Lol.

Layer of white with gray on top with letters cut out. Couple other logos tossed here and there.

Nothing like a nice coat of paint and new decals to make the old look new. It sure worked for my 55 HP Johnny too. Nice progress! :thumb:

Looks awesome CB!

Did you ever get that TnT figured out? Service manual may have the answer on that one? :noidea: My first guess would be a ground.
