Jas- are the pics still shown in this thread? I just found this and became an iboats member to read and see how you opened up your Islander. A lot of great info in this community! I want to buy an '86 22ft i/o Islander from a family friend and want to turn it into open bow too. I have so many questions and can't see your pics. 🙈. Hopefully you get this and can help me out. It's inspiring to see that someone has done it!

If his pics are hosted with photobucket, get the photobucket pic fixer for your browser from the addons section in your browser.

Jason left almost a year ago. If he comes back and wants to reopen the thread, ask any Mod.

Hi guys! Well, in short, this Islander has been sold. It was a terribly difficult decision for me as this boat and this project was more than just aluminum and rivets. For several reasons, I felt I had to let it go.

All the same, this rig has found a new home and the fella that bought it is nearby and actually an iBoats member. He has some big plans for it and may start up a threat showing you whats up.

Thanks again for your support in this project, I couldn't have done it without you guys!

Nah, that is silly! He's actually looking at building it out as a center console with a T top.

Yah, I kinda miss you guys too. Yup, even those riffraff glasser types:D

I am wrenching on the 84' Sea Nymph right now and my BIG pole barn is in progress which is actually the first real move to get the 26er rolling.

Good deal. I hope the building comes together for you.

We’ve really missed you and your early morning work regime, coffee included. Really looking forward to following your yacht build on the 26 footer!

Hey guys,

So.....I'm the new owner of Jason's epic Islander build, I've already got things moving on it and will start up a new thread in the coming days for anyone interested in following along for the next chapter.

Long story short, I was starting a restoration on a Mariner 220V and found more salt water corrosion than i cared to deal with so i started looking at alternatives to replace the hull. One option being an Islander conversion, I stumbled across Jason's thread here, realized he was local and only a stones throw away so I sent him a message to pick his brain on a few things about that process and the next thing you know it was hooked to my truck following me home.

Hopefully my changes can keep up to his original quality build.

Oh...and there is a top going back on ;)
