Re: 1976 22' Starcraft Islander Rebuild

Howdy fellas! So, I thought I'd stop in and give a quick heads up eh.

WOW, the last couple of weeks have been crazy busy! In my job transition I've basically been running two jobs, old one plus the new one.

At this point, I've got the old one totally wrapped up and am now down to one, whew:biggrin:

___________________________________________________________________________

Now that I've fully made the career change something very big has happened in my world.........I'M SLEEPING!!!!!:sleep::sleep:

Unbelievable. The other day I slept till 4:30 and this morning I made it till 5:03. I feel like a million bux!

Even though I've taken on a lot more responsibility and a little more work, It's pretty amazing the difference dumping stress makes, wow. Surely that sleeping stuff will hurt my boat building time but I'm happy to make the trade. I'll have to figure out my "new normal" here over the next couple of weeks and where Islander time gets carved out.

___________________________________________________________________________

I also seemed to have found my way in to a new metal machine project. More on that later:becky:

Glad to hear you aren't trapped under the boat!!! :D Ya... job "transitions" can be a bear... but it sounds like you are on the downward slope with your's.....

So does this new metal float? OR is it land based....

Good to hear Jason, there is more than a little to be said for a good nights sleep.

It all started because he's getting so much sleep now. He went into make up the beds in the Land Yacht and voila - GUTTED. Things happen!.

Nice score on the 2-wheeler...wish I still had mine, but here in Northern Havana, it is a dangerous endeavor to ride...except of course on weekends far away from the city...but I used to enjoy riding back & forth to work everyday...now with the advent of cell phones, very few people behind the wheel are actually driving, so even if you see them and anticipate them, they will still surprise you...
Enjoy the fun times...nothing like being on the road on two wheels!

Beard, tats, leathers and bugs in your teeth - Ah, the life. Can we guess Jen is not going to be a Motorcycle Mama?

You got a good commuter and small part/tool picker-upper, too. My Admiral is like your Admiral. Except it was me that was almost the goner. Be careful and do have fun. And "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" is no longer true. Ha-Ha

I'm betting that Honda 360 motor would make a great frankinstein kicker for the 26 footer.....

Added one more line to my sig:becky:

Yeah Baby! Sweet ride! ...Although she doesn't appear to be much of a project; already mint! :noidea:

...and good that you're no longer sleep deprived...nodding-off on that thing could be a little dangerous

Michael, could you possibly make a left rear end cap for a Grumman Ski-n-Fish??

Peter in SC

Nice looking commuter

Hmmm, a BIGGIN' dragged home, a new job, AND a 2wheel'd smile maker... Had a big 1st third of the year I'd say. Congrats

PM MichaelP. It's best to keep these transactions private because of forum rules. And it's doubtful he will even see your request buried in someone else's thread.

Hey! Been a while. Congrats on the new job. I was surprised I wasn't 500 pages behind (or more). Awesome winter we had huh? Not for boat building but for snowmobiling it was. I saw 1100 miles of awesome Michigan scenery. I haven't got to your newest thread yet. Hope your Easter was a good one.
