Are you referring to the 16' Nescher. Wow, that's a cool boat. Gonna have to spend some time in that thread as I'm sure there's some great ideas there.

I've been very busy over the last week or so. I'm getting really close to wrapping things up. Here's an update with pics of the current status.

I got the bow section installed. Then I taped it off so I didn't get any goop on anything and got the ski lockers/seats tabbed in.

I went ahead and installed some pvc pieces to facilitate wiring in the future.

I also opted to buy this guy to install the drain.

...and here it is installed.

Last night I got the cap installed and tonight my plan is to try to install the rub-rail... wish me luck.

Your resto is looking good. I am so envious of your drain tube tool. I did the homemade route, and had a few mess ups before I got mine right. Yours looks spot on. Great work.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I got the cap fully installed last night. Need to seal up the gaps with some PB. Next up, a good cleaning and a windshield installation. After that, I'll make a trip over to my BIL's house and pick up the Merc and start getting that installed. At this point, my goal is to get it on the water by next week... but we shall see. I think i'm going to install the Nautolex flooring but I may not do it right away - still mulling it over.

Today was another busy day. First on the list was to put the tires back on the trailer.

This allowed me to pull over to an incline so I could give it a good washing. It's been a year y'know. It's hard to tell from the pic how filthy it was.

And here it is after a good bath.

Next I pulled out the windscreen and gave it a batch. It went from this,

to this.

Here's a shot after leveling the console and installing the windows.

Next I installed this little trim piece that covers the transom.

I also took a trip over to my brothers house and picked up the merc. Tomorrow, I'm either going to install the motor or do some wiring. Stay tuned.

Here's what I did today. Fairly uneventful. Everything went as expected which is good.

Isn't it a nice feeling to see the boat clean, and looking more like a boat again? Everything is looking sharp. Hope you get all the little stuff finished up and get to launch her this week.

Engine sounds great. I love the custom tach pod on the dash. It looks real good. I bet that stereo is sweet too. Good luck on the splash.

Thanks for the good words guys. I got the seat and battery tie downs installed last night so I'm going to try to wrap that up this evening. Looks like we'll have a full moon on Wednesday so perhaps that will be my splash date.

It's been a busy week. I took Thursday and Friday off just to get this boat in the water. I was watching the weather and Thursday looked like the last good day to get it in. So I busted hump Mon-Wed and then Thursday devoted all my time to getting it wrapped up.
I have not got the carpet in and I need to wrap the side covers in some vinyl. Otherwise, everything is complete. All electrical is wired up and functioning.

We landed on naming the boat Miss Christina as that's my wife name and I thought it was a good fit. My brother in law has a vinyl sign maker so he cut me out a set of stickers. Looks great.

So back to the splash, It was getting late yesterday and my wife came out and said "are we going to do this?". I said "Ya, but I went to start her up and am having some problems". Turning the key would just give me a "click". I knew the battery was up so i figured it was the solenoid. Eventually it fired up and we left out.
The launch went fairly well (I remembered to put the plug in). At the boat ramp we were revisited by the solenoid issue but after fiddling with it a while, we got her started.

We did a christening of sorts with some champagne poured over the bow and a brief prayer. Then we set out for our dinner spot on the lake.

After dinner (it was dark by then), we decided to go park at the end of the runway (the lake sits at the end of the current JRB. This used to be Carswell, a SAC base from the 50's through the 90's). They fly F18s and CH-130's mainly out of there now. We sat there for a while and didn't see any planes (the planes generally run during the day and in the two years we've been going to the lake we haven't been able to see one plane landing).

So, we went and parked at another spot. After about 3 minutes, we noticed a plane coming in (ch130) and I lit it up and tried to beat it to the runway but was just a hair too late. Fortunately he was doing touch and go's so he came back around several times and I got a pretty cool video.

After that, we headed back to the boat ramp where I we were once again visited by the solenoid gremlin and this time, no amount of fiddlin would get her started. I finally decided to try to use the pull start (which I have never used). Worked like a champ I must say. So.... the first thing on the list is a new solenoid.

I tried to get some video but no one wanted to do it and I couldn't because I was driving. I finally got my wife to do and she didn't do it right and got like a 5 second clip. I'll post of what I have.
