Door lower track drain into bilge.
New port interior wall that door is behind.
Old 20.25" wide cabin door for size comparison. New setup slides open a little more than 22.25".
Thanks, I've been working like cRaZy on it, determined to get her in the water, fully functional, with the Mercruiser 888 purring, ASAFP. If I wasn't using the old cabin door for the bathroom- you could have it! It's a really nice solid wood door so guessing it is not original bc I think they all had aluminum doors from the factory? It was setup to be both the cabin and bathroom door when I got it, could latch in either position. Was a clever space-saving setup but my girl and I decided we really didn't want to have to have the cabin door open whenever someone uses the bathroom bc we definitely intend to spend a lot of nights anchored. On the bay around here the fall season days, although a tad chilly at night, are some of the very best days out there! Not too hot by night, and not too late for bikinis by day! lol Man I miss the water.
Thank you, it's been hard rushing it along like this bc of my OCD/desire to be more of a perfectionist but glad I'm just getting it done. Feel like I'm starting to get close to splash time!
Thanks! I am planning on putting powerful rare earth magnets recessed into the wood block spacer on the outside of the door that the door handle is yet to be mounted to. I think these will be enough to keep the door in the open or closed position when seas are not heavy. But the slider has very little resistance so I will definitely be adding a more positive locking latch of some sort, maybe just a hook and eyelet type deal, to hold it open in rougher conditions. The door has a standard patio door style sliding door handle on the inside and I'm adding in the mortise latch for it to lock when closed that way. Hoping that'll work out alright.
Me too! I'm so glad I didn't end up making a quick one myself out of the 2x10's or ply or something bc this one seems just right. Always loved the look of wood grain bow pulpits on sailboats. I thought the stainless insert with the roller was really nicely done. If this is a pulpit from a known boat model I'd love to know what it was. The pump is definitely on the big side but it's great piece of mind for me because I am still not used to the idea of having a bellows that can crack and sink the boat on an I/O! That definitely seems like a pro for outboards..
Seems weird that solid stainless steel filler necks with seals and all are only about $25 but the damn hose is 44! I'm already $201 into fuel connections just to be able to get gas in the tanks. Haven't even started on new vent lines and actual fuel supply hoses.. lol But those are smaller so should be cheaper to do thankfully. Definitely don't want to skimp on safety with gasoline on the water so what can ya do. I opted for the really heavy duty 1.5" ID stuff from Canada that's extra reinforced yet, purportedly, still very flexible! Hopefully it will be money very well spent. 
Thanks, I'm not completely sure how I'll do it but one way or another- this boat is getting an XL teak swim platform. I was trying to do it completely out of aluminum but the scrap gods never did yield any pieces the right thickness and big enough over the past few months. So it's going to be a little weight penalty but it might be the most popular spot too so thinking it'll be worth it. The aluminum channel I picked up is what I am planning to use to connect it all together from beneath. It is also going to be featuring an integrated kicker motor mount for my 15hp.
Felt like I was commiting a crime but I started the cutting and modifying of the nice teak table to turn it into the countertop. +More components like the awesome Ford V8 logo that the helm station desperately needed before even being built lol Really like how the bilge panel has a built in visual and audible alarm and how it overrides switch set to OFF and fires up all pumps if/when set off by float #2. Seems pretty ideal. And the urinal came in! Included a hose, urinal cake, and has the top flush hook up/port which not all do. Thinking this is going to be a real nice addition.
That emblem is just chromed plastic of some kind but it looks like real metal to me! Hoping that it won't want to corrode much being mainly if not almost all plastic? We shall see...
