Thanks, I've been working like cRaZy on it, determined to get her in the water, fully functional, with the Mercruiser 888 purring, ASAFP. If I wasn't using the old cabin door for the bathroom- you could have it! It's a really nice solid wood door so guessing it is not original bc I think they all had aluminum doors from the factory? It was setup to be both the cabin and bathroom door when I got it, could latch in either position. Was a clever space-saving setup but my girl and I decided we really didn't want to have to have the cabin door open whenever someone uses the bathroom bc we definitely intend to spend a lot of nights anchored. On the bay around here the fall season days, although a tad chilly at night, are some of the very best days out there! Not too hot by night, and not too late for bikinis by day! lol Man I miss the water.

How are you going to secure door at open and close point of travel? Looks good.
Thanks! I am planning on putting powerful rare earth magnets recessed into the wood block spacer on the outside of the door that the door handle is yet to be mounted to. I think these will be enough to keep the door in the open or closed position when seas are not heavy. But the slider has very little resistance so I will definitely be adding a more positive locking latch of some sort, maybe just a hook and eyelet type deal, to hold it open in rougher conditions. The door has a standard patio door style sliding door handle on the inside and I'm adding in the mortise latch for it to lock when closed that way. Hoping that'll work out alright.

Also picked up a few other critical items like the main bilge pump, 20A float switch, a wooden alcohol rack for the bar, the anchor locker inspection window, an obligatory pirate bottle opener, and the second bathroom window. Don't have a picture of the bathroom window yet. The pump is Huge! I thought the 2000 rule I had before was a pretty badass pump but this thing is on a new level. A 15 amp pump might be a bit much but I like the idea of an overkill pump for emergency situations! There will be two smaller bilge pumps as well. One in the front and a backup main pump in the rear. Likely add a high water alarm too.IMG_20230814_185112__01.jpgIMG_20230814_185208.jpgIMG_20230814_185231__01.jpgIMG_20230814_185246__01.jpgIMG_20230814_185352.jpgIMG_20230814_185415__01.jpgIMG_20230814_185426__01.jpgIMG_20230814_185503__01.jpg

Me too! I'm so glad I didn't end up making a quick one myself out of the 2x10's or ply or something bc this one seems just right. Always loved the look of wood grain bow pulpits on sailboats. I thought the stainless insert with the roller was really nicely done. If this is a pulpit from a known boat model I'd love to know what it was. The pump is definitely on the big side but it's great piece of mind for me because I am still not used to the idea of having a bellows that can crack and sink the boat on an I/O! That definitely seems like a pro for outboards..

Picked up the smaller swim platform and decided it is way too small. Picked up the distressed larger one to combine the two into one big platform. We'll see how that works out! Started putting water system together yesterday, pump has some serious pressure! The $20 cold only SS sink faucet came in and looks great I think. Looking forward to mounting it up and trying it out. Think I have stove/sink layout figured out finally. Need to find a suitable location for the 5lb tank I will be running. Going with quick easy stick-on faux marble for the bathroom and beach wood for other areas.Figure this stuff is tough and easy to change out in the future if desired. The custom wood table someone made for this is what will become the kitchen counter.

Shoehorning these Hugh Jass brand fuel tanks in here along with a bigger water tank to boot has made the port side filler neck area a bit tight. Ordered a preformed 90Ā° Gates fuel hose section that should make the turn smoothly enough so it'll flow well and won't be a slow pain in the ass to fill. Have two 4' sections of premium fuel filler on the way ($88). Didn't realize it was quite so pricey! šŸ˜³ Seems weird that solid stainless steel filler necks with seals and all are only about $25 but the damn hose is 44! I'm already $201 into fuel connections just to be able to get gas in the tanks. Haven't even started on new vent lines and actual fuel supply hoses.. lol But those are smaller so should be cheaper to do thankfully. Definitely don't want to skimp on safety with gasoline on the water so what can ya do. I opted for the really heavy duty 1.5" ID stuff from Canada that's extra reinforced yet, purportedly, still very flexible! Hopefully it will be money very well spent. Catch of the day! Got some great used materials at the scrap including part of an old roach coach for my kitchen area (ingrained from former shipyard days- this pattern was the symbol of comfort) and a badly bent up but totally saveable polished SS 22lb Lewmar plow anchor for just $75! That might have to be my fancy, show anchor and have the Mantus stowed for longer excursions and storms lolIMG_20230822_132916.jpgIMG_20230822_132932.jpgIMG_20230822_132959.jpg

looking good. commin along great. cant wait to see what ya do with the 2 swim platforms... a+++
Thanks, I'm not completely sure how I'll do it but one way or another- this boat is getting an XL teak swim platform. I was trying to do it completely out of aluminum but the scrap gods never did yield any pieces the right thickness and big enough over the past few months. So it's going to be a little weight penalty but it might be the most popular spot too so thinking it'll be worth it. The aluminum channel I picked up is what I am planning to use to connect it all together from beneath. It is also going to be featuring an integrated kicker motor mount for my 15hp.

Seems pretty ideal. And the urinal came in! Included a hose, urinal cake, and has the top flush hook up/port which not all do. Thinking this is going to be a real nice addition.
