I really have been! Baking in the sun without a nice cool water foundation- it can be a very hot can too lol The rain keeps sabotaging me but have made more progress at least, bathroom window I just sealed minutes ago and so glad that's finally done.

Locking bathroom door knob and adjoining wall completed last night. Just need to add striker plate but otherwise good to go.IMG_20230915_005727.jpgIMG_20230915_005710.jpgIMG_20230915_005647.jpgIMG_20230915_005639.jpgIMG_20230915_005627.jpgIMG_20230915_005615.jpg

damnnnnn , looking great. the window really turned out great. the bathroom is awesome.
Thanks! Hopefully the kitchen will come together smoothly now. The roof needed to be reinforced with the 3/4 on top before the big cupboard assembly can get mounted there bc I want it to be mounted as high as possible against the aluminum skin. It's all set now luckily so hoping to get the stove pocket and plumbing closet/area established in the galley next...

A few more small victories. Made table post so that it can easily be bolt into two different positions while I was at it adding a reinforcing panel below. Bench seating supports are fixed and added a bunch more foam under the bow area.IMG_20230920_115559.jpgIMG_20230920_132157.jpgIMG_20230917_131500.jpgIMG_20230917_132015.jpgIMG_20230917_121155.jpgIMG_20230917_124845.jpgIMG_20230917_122010.jpgIMG_20230920_115611.jpgIMG_20230917_165631.jpgIMG_20230917_153106.jpgIMG_20230917_165718.jpgIMG_20230917_122022_01.jpgIMG_20230920_134300.jpgIMG_20230917_173234.jpg

Pulpit is just propped up there at the moment.. Trying to coordinate the alignment of the windlass position/drop hole for the rode with the anchor locker currently...

It's been a long haul fixing her up but I think it'll be well worth it!

I really enjoyed my starchief.
Coming from a Jetstar, it's a whole new world of boating.
I'm sold on the larger boats now.

My newest boat already has me thinking about a bathroom, plus I really want to make it a camper.
And I have a poop schedule, first thing in the morning!

I already started eyeballing my LiveWell as a possible urinal for times when I can't let it rip over the side. ;):ROFLMAO:

Me too! I absolutely loved my Starchief. The things you can do with that boat, for so little gas and overall expense- is nothing short of amazing really. Can tow it with a 4cyl even! That is the boat that really transformed me into a dedicated boater. First: real cooking, overnights, slight offshore adventures, seeing dolphins in the wild, shark, seals, sunken ships, islands, etc. Made me wonder why I ever wanted a bowrider or any other cabin-less boat aside from maybe a tender! lol I have since had relentless dedication to being on the water and enjoying it as much as possible. Not sure why urinals aren't commonplace on boats, just seems logical! I bet you could make one work somewhere.. They have really compact ones that have a jug attached to it so it is a super simple and complete setup. Looks almost like a gas can with a funnel lol

Pulpit finally sealed and through bolted. Very satisfying achievement I must say and I'm loving the look of this windlass setup! Wait till I bust out the consignment vintage faux woodgrain insert accented cleats that I have for her... 😅 They even match the tow/battle wagon lol
One might think I was actually trying to have the weirdest overall setup or something.

A little overbuilt but this was to also reinforce the bow raised floor area where the anchor locker will be.
Damn relentless rain is seriously hampering my progress. Forget about ever having more than 2 days without rain in a row for painting or sealing anything- that's crazy talk. Apparently has rained 13 out of the last 17 weekends around here an event hostess told me. I can't wait to move away from this expensive, gloomy, run down area!! New England can kiss my, aft.

I would for sure suggest sealing or even glass over that plywood to give it some extra resistance to water/moisture.

Some guys were using outdoor rated wood sealer to coat the wood to keep costs down.

I went with West Marine epoxy, stuff is super strong and easy to work with.
but it's not cheap.

I went as far as to predrill my holes a little too large, then seal those holes up with a few coats of epoxy to ensure a long life.

a minimum of two coats was my general rule, and i used wax paper to help hold the epoxy onto the surface so I could do both sides at once.

Has it been a really rainy year there too? I can't believe how overcast this whole year has been, it's weird. Too bad there's no ocean in Arizona!!
