Yeah... no splash. I did a pre water test in the drive and found that the drive would tilt down but would not go back up! I tried replacing the solenoid but that didn't work. So I drove her back up and paid another $100 for them to fix it! So HOPEFULLY now she will work right!

Hmmmm.... Interesting...... Did those guys not bother to check the drive T&T after they built the whole thing for you? Really?

Yeah - A sane and normal customer would expect the function of a complete install would expect a tested product to be delivered. Oops, this is a fellow Starmadian, so sane and normal don't apply. But a cash paying customer sure does!

Apparently not. They said that there was a misunderstanding on what I had wanted them to do. The installed and checked the engine.... but not the trim. I'm kinda disappointed, although they did get me back in right away instead of my having to wait in line again

I guess it's good they cut the line for you. Hope it isn't expensive to bail her put.

Sounds like the shop made up an excuse to charge you an hour of labor to fix what they messed up during the install. Hope all is well now!

I can see you talking with ol Paul there...

"Ah, well, there must have been a misunderstanding here, see, we figured that you'd for sure want the drive to go down but had no idea you actually wanted it to go back up again. So, for an extra hundred bux, yah, we can make it go up, no problem."

Well splash attempt 2 failed. The trim pump works, but turn the engine key and nothing happens. Nothing at all. I called and got told by Paul basically it ran here, don't know why it isn't running. Sorry, I thought after $3000 in repairs I would have an engine that would run. Silly me !

We'll that certainly sucks. Seems quality customer service is becoming a rarity. Considering you tow mileage to go there I would think you may want to try someone local. Maybe Desmond in Pt Huron. Kinda funny as yesterday I stopped by the local repair shop for an out drive gasket and picked up a small clam vent for my wire cluster on the dash. Seems he just pulls a price out of mid air every time I go in theref thinking I just paid double for the gasket.

Oh man that is not good at all, frustration has to be mounting with the quality of the work Paul's done. I know all you want is to be out skimming the waves not driving the Chief from home, to the lake and then the shop.

Dooooooooood......

So frustrating.

I've not been impressed with ANY of the marine dealers in this in area. The only way to do things right is to do it yourself. It's just too bad that some of this stuff is above our heads ya know.

Very sorry man.

not sure if same problem i had chief but may be worth a shot. i had my mercruiser in/out serviced last fall and when i went to start it up this spring seems i had the same thing. my trim on engine still worked but key and everything on dash was dead. i googled it some how and read where there is a relay ( square box back by or on motor) that i think the shop shorted out with a wrench or something. took to shop and got a new one and everything has worked ever since. about 19 bucks i think.

a couple possibilities, and i am talking mer4cruiser. 1st look for a resetable circuit breaker on main engine, i believe it is right out in open on top of engine. if no luck with that then i believe it could be the ignition fuse ( not a relay as i stated earlier) and it should be square probably silver and connected to main starter terminal. good luck

My 4.3 has the big red reset button right on top too where the harness plugs into the motor.

When I went to look at buying the Mariner the dead man switch was bad. It was still attached just wouldn't push the button in enough.

Just throwing some poop out there 'cause it already hit the fan.

That really sucks Chief, it's so hard to find quality repair people.
