Below is the bilge pump set up on my 18' SS. I don't have the bilge pump crazed mentality as some guys do since over the years it is THE least used item on my boats and only gets ran once before I leave to make sure it's operating correctly.

The issue with going to a larger pump is the discharge outlet has to be larger, 800 GPH and under uses the standard 3/4" discharge that SC put in the boats.

I hear ya water, been digging a bit and found what you have stated, thanks. I am ordering a 750 GPH. with 3/4 outlet.manual/auto. Also planning to get my fuel system plumbed while it's easy to access , so ordering vent hose ( stuff is expensive and I received fill hose ( also expensive) and wondering thoughts on a couple things. I've seen the canister filter some of you have mounted on transom and I have used the inline cheaper filter on numerous boats , so am undecided and looking for thoughts? Also I have no power yet , and am wondering if the 3/8 feed line to engine is pretty standard , as I see 5/16. Talked about also. Or do I wait till I got power to match it up? Any input much appreciated and thanks

Your Nautilux looks awesome. Glad you didn't have a lot of problems with it. I did the same thing worrying about how I would do It by myself. Great job!!!
I will probably go with the 750 t0 800 GPH also..
Not sure on the fuel line so not much help there.

Fuel feed line depends on the nipple size your tank pick up has, stay with that size fuel line to the motor. The spin on fuel filters are also water separators and normally have a better micron filter. That's why I use them.

thanks guys, yeah my fuel tank the nipple is gone ( need to get one) from my research 3/8 is most common. as far as filter , i believe the spin on would be better, just trying to get my head around if necessary or not. i have had 4 different outboards over the years, and the inline, cheaper is all i have every had. i got one vote for spin on (thankyou h20 ) any other thoughts, or input as to which way the rest of the mob has gone?

For my Kingfisher I use the inline type. But where I fish with that boat I can literally walk back to shore if necessary. And I also have an electric trolling motor to get me back to the dock if necessary.

But once I get my Chieftain going, which will be used in the Gulf, I'll use the spin-on type for both engines to get the peace of mind.

been chipping away. i got my fuel hoses and bilge pump done, along with a splashwell inspection cover and a couple of cup holders inserted in the splashwell rail. next is to decide on a carpet and get it ordered for sides of boat

sorry to say, and not real proud of the fact that its been over a year since I have spent anytime on the project. lots going on in other aspects of my life has kept me away from what I have come to enjoy which is making progress on the boat and interacting with you all, but my hope is to get back after it in near future and spend some time with er

after a much to long hiatis, i am getting back at it. the boat is in storage, but i have been working on the consoles this past weekend
primed with self etch / painted with hammered black rustoleum/used 3m 90 adhesive to apply vinyl, removing end trims first to have some mechanical hold power/ and cut side panels that i will epoxy ,carpet, and attach from inside of console.

i got 2 coats of clarkcraft 1;1 epoxy on my side panels with 4 coats on the ends. hoping to get them carpeted this weekend.

yes, not one of my prouder moments seeing as this build will have taken me close to ten years. with way to many interuptions along the way. some beyond my control and sorry to say some a fault of my own. i do plan to splash her, and hope i can get it done in next 18 months or so. being part of this forum has been a big part of my desire to see it thru, and complete the project.

Agreed. The forum gives a sense of accoutability; that someone with similar interest will look at it in a critical manner. It makes us tend to cut corners less, if nothing else.
