I thought the color would be good too. Wanted something I could paint the entire topside as down the road.

Thanks for swinging thru. Wish the river would go down though here. :*(

I'm finally getting around to hanging the motor on the end of this boat. The 850 is now installed with 4200 along with one of the trim pumps. Still need to get the other trim pump and the drain tubes installed.... then just a matter of getting the cables done... SLOW going it seems...

I like what you've done here, I put 5200 on my Splash well four days ago (It still hasn't cured). I like the blue and shinny transom, it's a good look.

Lookin' sharp SMG! That sail-blue with the blinged-out transom really pop! Are you planning on running the sail-blue up the gunwale caps as well?

I have found 5200 takes a lot longer to cure. 4000 or 4200 is quicker and spreads nicer.

Nice work there SMG!! Looking great!

Ya know I have thought about doing that... But I really want to get the darn thing out of my garage... It wouldn't take but a night of prep work to get it ready to paint..... Maybe in a few months after I see how my spashwell paint job is holding up...

I like the 4200 myself... Just tape the edges you plan to seal up.. I dip my finger in minerial spirits and get my smooth on.... Seem to work great.

Thanks guys... Garden tilling/de-weeding duty last night... More to come soon. I hope. lol

Ohh K! I got the motor all buttoned up with 4200 on all the holes and bolts. Got the trim cylinders all buttoned up and set up... Routed the hoses a little differently than they were when I took it apart and like the looks and thing the fit is better as well. Filled up the gas tank, put in the oil and pumped the bulb... It fired up and ran pretty well...

Didn't see much of a tell tale coming out but I was planning on checking out the impeller anyways. I dropped the LU last night to get a look. It looks pretty good to me. I bought the upper rebuild kit for the motor anyways so I plan on installing it tonight.

On a side note I picked up an parts 850 awhile back with a broken distributor and corroded wiring. I pulled the LU on it and heck it looks brand new. Even the splines up on top of the input shaft... Was pretty stoked about that. So the plan is to just double/triple check that it will work on my motor and then rebuild it so a spare is onhand or able to sell for some extra money if I ever sell this rig.

My minn kota 55lb thrust through my old 18' mod V around no problem. It has fallen off a boat going 70 mph (how my buddy found it on the side of the road) and has worked for years since then. Tough thing!

The Elite DSI Combo looks awesome!!! :D

Good looking SC as well! Mine is a 73, and I cant wait to keep seeing your progess!

Had a good time camping out on the river this weekend. Super nice weather and well it's always good when you catch up some fish and have a fish fry for your dinner. I will have to say that the 2 big fresh water drum we hauled in were some of the best tasting fish Ive had. The catfish we a close second....

Bright in early Saturday AM.... with a barge heading up river with his haul....

The fruits of our labors.... and I say labors loosely! :)

Best thing I've bought was that DSI/GPS and my cast net for bait fish.... Used it to find ledges and holes to fish.... Before I was just guessing and usually came back empty handed.

Awesome morning shot SMG!!!

I'll assume the beer is in the other coolers.

Sounds like it was a great weekend on the River! I'm very jealous

Did you randomly beach the boat or did you stay at a campsite?

Yea buddy..This island is part of the Upper Mississippi Conservation area for Missouri. It was somewhat random but not really if that makes sense.. lol.... We had the whole island to ourselfs and the beach. Boats are nice that way to keep the rift raft out... wait... that was me until I got this boat..

Really? Man, I've been missing out! (Known as sheephead up this way)

I've caught plenty o biggens while out fishing for walleye and always threw em back. I guess I've always been told they are no good.

Looks like I've been throwing back fish dinner, rats!

I've been told that too... and we wanted to put it to the test..... I'd recommend keeping the next good sized one and doing the same... and let us know your thoughts...

We are also on target to fillet up some asian carp if we can find one big enough that we can fillet out some of the "Y" bones and have a bigg enough piece of meat......

We are just down right KRAZY here.. talking heck even thinkin about asian carp eating and drum eating.. lol
