By the way I scrolled through my post, not sure I showed the "install" in the epoxy. But it has worked well, just hope I don't have to replace it lol!

Today I spent some time removing hardware from the cap, while its lowered temporarily on the hull. Small stuff was coming off fine, but the brackets for the ski pylon appear to be adhered with either 5200 or some 2 part adhesive. Xylene didnt budge it, so I ordered DeBond , which was formulated to remove 5200. Pricy for a small can, but if it saves time from fairing ripped gel, it will be worth it.

They cancelled my order, said they do not ship this product....I guess they dont do hazmat shipping.. Have to stop in a local West Marine to see if they have any on the shelf. The places that do ship it want about $50 for a 4 oz can shipped, meh.....

Yup, shelved the deck hardware removal....re-lifted the cap, and sanded the outer transom, to ready for fairing. The three holes in the outer skin im leaving are the 2 splash well drains, and the garboard,]

Update:

Today I had to break out the grinder again to clean up some areas to fill and tab.

I coated and filled in the edge of the front shelf with a chunky mix for the large gap.

Then I precut the transom cloth.

1628377285970.jpeg

then used up the last of my resin to wet it out. Placed an order with USC for more plus some cabosil and cloth.

Gotta add another layer when the supplies come in.

Thanks guys, I feel recharged and ready to roll. Wanna get some of this done before Comrade Murphy locks us down again.

This morning I started mocking up the tank cradle/transom braces.

Fiddles with different ways to assure removal of the tank if necessary.

Looks ok but it wont work as is, the filler is too far forward and too high still....I have about 2 inches I can lower it, and about 3 inches to move it back. Im gonna trim back the stringers and lower the cap to see where i am. That will put the pump about 1 inch off the transom bottom....all very tight but doable.

So far the motor seems to be locked up, I put Marvels MO in the cylinders and soaked for a week, put an impact on the flywheel nut and still nothing. Gonna try a few more weeks, then maybe pull the lower unit and see if that helps.

Yeah, an inline merc would be my 1st choice, but ill throw anything decent on back lol. The way i reconfigured it, it could prolly handle a V 6. Double 3/4 transom, rear braces/stringers, all epoxy construction.

Yup, they look the best on these boats....I would take an 1150, or better yet, a 1400...which is what this was factory rated for.

Took me a while of poking around, but the one I found has been great. It had ignition issues, the switchboxes were original, replaced them....and the carbs needed rebuilt.....and i put on a CDI voltage regulator (they don't have them from the factory). Once I did that it has been bulletproof. They don't like to idle a long time, but when you push the throttle forward you just go, as in instantly! My favorite part is coming out of the hole like a rocket! And I like the fact the are loud, belch two-stroke smoke and just look cool lol! I would see if you can round one up, defiantly worth the time looking!

Ive been watching around on local CL and such Arch.....there are a few, about 1K+- for a 115, but they are all long shaft plus some black max's. I really need a short shaft, 20" max, would love a 15", then i wouldnt need to lift it on a setback bracket.

Im sure ill find a 115 or 150 when its crunch time.

I cut back the tank cradle and got the fuel fill almost under the cap, another 1.5 inches and im good. Gonna cut them tomorrow along with the other sunpad supports.

The cap is back on completely to do some final measurements for it all, then ill raise it again. The USC order came in so im fully loaded with glass supplies.

almost there lol

I put the old seats in for positioning of the bases. Im growing fond of these and may redo these instead of the pontoon seats I was gonna order.

The L shaped back bench will now be a cap high sunpad for the admiral.

.Gonna add a removable shelf grid for a new plywood backed pad.

I like the seats, but I always try to keep things "period" so to speak. I think it adds a lot of interest, and they look comfy! lol. I built the one's in Miss Morgan based on some grainy photos, I also thought about ordering some but I am glad I didn't. Looks like you are making some headway!
