#1 they did not use Closed Cell foam. WOW!!!! #2 Your Boat is so small it will prolly not impact it one way or the other especially if you used 4# foam. How does the hull feel? is it thick or thin and flimsy? I'm leanin towards using 4lb foam and gettin her done. If you do a good job of tabbing the deck to the hull she will be sound and solid and extremely seaworthy, IMHO. I am NOT a PRO so OOPS and YD might have different opinions.

I am happy today though!! My Marine Plywood is in!! i didnt get to order any 1inch since they didnt have any instock unless i wanted to pay double of what regular marine plywood costs  260 for a 8X4, no thanks!! So i have 3/4 and 1/2(mostly for the deck).

4 layers to make my 2in transom!

Make absolutely sure that your cap will go back onto a 2" transom. It might be just that the 1.5" transom (2layers 3/4" ply) has swollen & looks like it's 2" thick mulch/pulp wood....

If you haven't gotten a post from oops or Yacht Dr (YD) by the weekend, you may want to PM them & ask them to check in on your thread. They'll help you get a plan together to put it back better then the factory ever though possible.....
