I am trying NOT to stockpile hulls at this point.....

Of course if he would take 600...I would have enough money for a new sawzall for disposal.

Yanked the motor today. If we decide to continue with this restore we are going to split the whole cap.

Found a boat on Clist today, 17 foot 69 glastron with a 91 40 horse engine, guy is asking 800 obo. If the Floor...stringers...and transom are in good shape we are going to go buy that one, and hang this 115 off the back of it and then sell the 91. It looks good in pictures, and supposedly its stored inside, might be going to look at it Tuesday evening.

I'll keep ya updated, and thanks for the advice guys.

Sounds like a good move (provided it's in as good a shape as you think). A 40 HP on a 17 footer seems a bit underpowered anyway....your 115HP would make a good rig there, just make sure you're not over the MAX HP rating on the 17 footer. Most 17' to 18' are in the 100HP to 140HP range so I'm guessing you'll be okay, but just check the nameplate.

Yep, what he ^^^^ said, be sure and check the HIN plate on the transom for the rated HP for the boat. Over HP is NOT good. Especially for insurance etc...
