Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

OK, well, um, let's see how I can get this out...

Over the past few weeks I had a couple of completely unforeseen expenses/bills (one big one from the IRS). Kinda put my family in a bit of a pinch, not cool really.

So, this Jet Star is now owned by another man.

If those of you down in the Port Huron/St. Clair River area see a black Starcraft with a 50 Johnson flyin across the water, wave to the Jet for me will ya?

OK, that's that.

Wow Jason. That's a bummer. You will probably find another though. It seems you get as much enjoyment from the project as you do the finished product. Hang in there.

Yah, it was hard watching that Jet get towed away. But, he was pretty amped.

I still need a boat for the walleye opener in about 6 weeks here. I'll have just a bit of seed money left over after I write that fat check to the gubment so I'll be hunting for something. Prolly just a simple 14' utility boat to get me out.

I'm just sitting here stunned, don't even know what to write, so I'm just writing down what I'm thinking...

Well I guess I better not do that because it would prolly get me banned for life from the forum...

Let me just say...

Sorry you needed to let her go. But now there's room for another:redface: Small utility counts! It floats, takes a motor, keeps you outta the water & lets you fish...... Yep, it counts!

Hardest check you'll ever accept I bet. Or pile of hundreds!

Had to do what you needed to do. I kind of know how you feel...

Sorry again dude, what a drag....

Man, that stinks.... But, you did the right thing... Also, you got to enjoy the boat last weekend... that was a nice gift and something you will remember forever.

Let's get that Islander ready!!!!

Huh? That's all I heard.

Or maybe just the way I heard it.:D

Sucks about the Jet but

So sorry about the Jet, Jason. You managed to keep going through a kitchen, cars and the well but the IRS thing can be a hard nut to crack. It's too late now but you did list the Islander and Jet as dependents didn't you?

Cue up the photos and vids. Then re-live the moments of fun with the kids. Y'all had some happy times.

Jas, I am truly sorry you had to let her go, much less under those conditions. With your ingenuity and skills, you will no doubt find something that will fill the gap until the Islander is up and running.

As I am sure you know, what matters is right with you every morning, evening and night --- your wife and kids.

All the best as you begin a new journey....

Jim
