Well I'm overdue for some updates! My project isn't dead haha. The 3.0L is in and I've made some slow but good progress on the interior. Luckily I was able to borrow a decent walking foot sewing machine for the upholstery.

And my pics didn't post haha. Standby...

First pic post from my phone. More difficult than I thought!

Good to see you back. The interior work is outstanding. I really like the color combination. Keep up the good work.

Everything looks super! Can't wait to see her skimming the waves, you've got to be getting close now.

Thanks for the replies!

I missed your project up to now since I got mine just after your last post last year. I really like the paint job and what you have done so far. What color was the Rustoleum you used? It looks very close to the '67 OEM burgundy for the Starchief.

Hah well I had to get brave and mix the color. It's three parts bright red and one part gloss black. I didn't realize they ever came in burgundy, cool!

Fantastic restore! Your skills are broad and deep. Is that a subwoofer between the V-berths?

Thanks! Yeah a 10" and there's a sealed enclosure in there. Someone had knocked an oddly shaped hole there anyway, so I figured I might as well.

Well I got her wet fellas.
It was a bit premature, I'm far from finished.
But my best resto buddy was in town which is rare, so we took her for a spin.

It went well! Shifted and ran great!
Took on more water than I would have liked...trying to track that down. Around 2 gallons in a 2 hour trip.

That's my buddy in the pic, an Afghanistan vet. He helped when he could since the deconstruction, so he was about as excited as me to see her float!

Oh yeah Starcraft on the water! :whoo:

Nice job G64, she looks great! You have any more pics of her cutting a wake or video would be super. :D

I ended up with a small leak in my Chief but even after several hours it's not enough water to hit the bilge pump float. I hope your leak is an easy one to track down.

Same here, it's never raised the float enough to switch the pump on until I'm cranking it up the trailer. In my case it's known loose rivets and i live with it. A gallon an hour is worth checking out, though.

The boat looks great! Congrats!

Congratulations! She's a beauty!

What brand / color of paint did you use? Burgundy?

G64 the Starcraft SOTY is up. If you consider your project splashed I would gladly nominate it. If you feel it's not ready yet or completed enough then Perhaps 2017 SOTY would be better.
