Super busy lately guys and a week long visit from my 1 year old grandson … Still chipping away though . I got new plywood backer for the fiberglass fins installed and started installing new battons . Just finished up steam bending the port side into the bow .. That was actually not the easiest job ! LOL !
Just gotta finish fasting the ends to the bow chine rails then on to the starboard side .

That makes 2 from the Dora show .
Don’t know how that happened but it’s pretty cool !
Meanwhile been fabricating the side planks and temporarily fastening in place .. Next step , pull them back off and CPES the backsides and new battons . The permanently install ..

Careful in this heat/humidity until those sea breezes bring in dryer air

My deodorant stopped working about 4 hours ago

Nice work . . . reminds me of my Dad fixing our wooden Beetle Cat sailboat back in the 1960's.

So both port and starboard planks installed except for the last plank at the gunnel top or cover plank .
Working on the transom battons and planks now ..I’m leaving the top planks off till after we flip back over . I don’t want to cut those planks in if I’m going to replace the the top cover planks . I have my Interlux barrier coat and bottom paint now . Gunna go back with original black bottom paint and White boot stripe .

Ok KC, so the transom had the grooves cut into the planks . Took me a few minutes to figure out how to re-create them . Opted for an 1/8” router bit and my elcheapo plastic router table . I think I achieved the look ok .. 3C37E662-3020-48EE-8239-1C4D700DEE4B.jpeg7E235D13-4350-4DF0-BF8A-CF1FA9BAC85B.jpeg3F12643C-0C3E-41D8-879D-8CCD01CEF664.jpeg26D0F5C4-BF1C-4588-83FC-0C12A1E421F9.jpeg
