1959 lonestar cruise liner

I have a chance to buy a 18 ft 1959 lonestar cruise liner boat, The boat is in fair condition with many of the original parts , The problem is that the guy who had it started to replace the transom on it, he passed away before he got it finished and his son wants to sell it. My question is how hard will it be to replace? Where would i find more info on this?
