walbert52, sure it can. But a better idea may be using a transom plate or jack plate. That way you don't have to rebuild anything but install the jack plate and adjust it 'til you have what you need... :thumb:

The jack plate would not help with the water coming over the transom when the boat slows down in a rush correct????

No but easing off the throttle so the wake backwash doesn't catch you so quick works wonders.
